But is nothing part of everything? If you stand for everything would that include nothing? Or maybe nothing is not part of everything...but wouldn't that make everything not actually everything? Then again maybe nothing is the absence of everything in which case you can't have everything and nothing. But then everything would not be everything...*head explodes*

Historically speaking you could argue India and France have had the most profound effects on UK culture.

I'd say mostly all those of the commonwealth. With specifics being USA (non Commonwealth), Canada and Australia. Followed by Ireland, New Zealand, India, South Africa (non commonwealth) and then all the rest.

Eh? I'd put the rest of Europe first, then probably Middle East, then China and finally India. In recent times, its USA which has had by far the most influence.

For 200 years, India was the 'jewel in the crown' - or to put it more bluntly - India accounted for a larger share of the British Empire's GDP than Britain itself did.

In 1870:

The British Empire accounded for 24.1% of world GDP...

...of which British India accounted for 12.2% of world GDP.

Thats a pretty damn profound relationship, I would say - how can you possibly say China had more of an effect on Britain? Basically speaking, the two countries were joined at the hip for 200 years.

If we are only talking about present times, then yeah, you are right, but otherwise...

Nah, the use of cars in the UK largely comes from continental Europe, thankfully.

I do love American cars though - theyre just so clunky sometimes.

Ford, is American, Vauxhall is still owned by GM, which sells them under another name in the US. Chevvy is also owned by GM, although it is different to the Amercian versions. Cadilac etc are also emerging over here.
