I just checked your photos' Exif information...

Every photo has information called Exif which reveals camera model, date and time, ISO, etc..
I noticed you took all the photos in "Automatic" mode. That's no problem in daytime, but at night it may be better to take night shots in manual mode(for longer exposure time) and use a tripod as well. Then you will be able to take brighter night shots

I thought it automatically goes to night mode

I tried night mode before but it was same as automatic...also one time I left night time mode on during the day and all my pictures were bad (too bright)

Where is the exif information?

Most compact-digital cameras' night-shot modes are not made perfect and they will not give a satisfactory result. For brighter photos, you just need to set your camera to higher ISO and longer exposure time with the help of a tripod to avoid blurring.

About Exif, just download the Exif Reader here:

I personally use "Exif Reader Property" to add the Exif-reading function to the "File properties" function on the Windows.

I actually didn't take pictures of food in kyoto

. And the few pictures I did take shows my friends so I don't want to post them..

Great work. Those Picture reminds me my summer of kyoto trip.
They have a variety of red and brown colours.
The color gives me an ambition and sometimes rest.
