Contrary to the general impression, the new design has not changed the surface area of the planned terminal; it still is 30,000+m² (the current surface area of Jomo Kenyatta Airport terminal in Nairobi/Kenya: 25,662m²). Furthermore, the render represents only the first module; others will be added as the traffic increases.

Where did you got this information? Is the project approved by some official authorities?

Did you include the surface of the new terminals or airport that they building? If yes, then that's good. I wish to see what the inside would look like then I will have my final comment.

Would like to see the details of the final project as well. Remeber the governement said this will be a self-financed project. No private investment, at least for the Phase I of the project. Lets wait.

The design specifications of the airport terminal project were defined by the RVA in cooperation with the French company “Aéroports de Paris ingénierie (ADPi.)” and their key features are:

Quote:

Not only the project is approved by the government, the latter has already earmarked CF30 billion for the realization of the first phase.

I think we need a new thread. For airports in general. For news and progress in the project and construction part. What do you think?

The new look of the Ndjili Airport from the arrival.

A bit ironic to just cover a crappy airport to make it look good and new but hey...

One must admit that this provisional solution – any other solution for that matter – is far better than the yellow eyesore that gave the passengers the creeps and made them want to go back onto the plane before even visiting the city…

Isn’t it Chantal Biya, the Cameroon’s first lady, flying back home after a business trip (diamonds purchase), or is it a Congolese “Moziki 100 kilos” setting off on a honeymoon journey around the world?

This temporary solution is way better thn those colours indeed. But the colour they chose isn't that good as well. Too dark. Imagine a guy that has heard only terrors about Congo. He flies for the first time to Kinshasa and then sees that. He might be like well this looks modern but he might also be like, the stories are true! What are they trying to hide, why this dark colour. Lol..I'm just saying. They should haven taken a brighter colour.
