I am one of the 36 people who have purchased a house in this complex and I would beg to differ from what is being said.

The construction of our house has not yet begun despite us making the full down payment as well as monthly installments. From what we know, our plot of land is still under dispute with some locals who were living their. The company sold us the house without even acquiring proper land rights and due to this the construction has ceased.

We have tried to contact the senior members of Invalco but communication has been poor - it seems like this is one Mozambique's "mega projects" which looks good on paper but does not deliver.

Dear MShair,

Thanks for sharing information about this. The company recently agreed to give us a different house in the same complex after many months of stalled negotiations. We were not happy about this but felt that we were forced to accept since the banks have already begun charging us interest.

The total time for construction, they said, was 30 months but construction has been delayed greatly and this has affected our relocation plans from a different house in Maputo.

Still, the company was very private about other home buyers in the complex and did not give us information or invite us to an open forum/meeting due to "privacy laws" which is very unfair. If you know of anyone else with these problems, please invite them to share in this forum.

Thank you
