I agree with you! It is absolutely right that IOC always sends out the wrong political messages. They reward the backwardness, corruption and injustice in many countries. In Brazil, more than 30% of the population still live below the poverty line, the violence rates are amongst the worst in the World and the GINI index shows Brazil as the 3rd worst country in terms of income distribution in the Western hemisphere!
I already found it crazy to give the Chinese the Olympic Games and host it in one of the most polluted cities in the world with journalistic censorship and doubtful prctices with oppression of the local population!
Next, they will allow Olympic Games in Tehran or Khartoum!

I think if a country like Brazil wants to host the games it shouldn't take the country's worst city to host them. How about about Curitiba, well known here in Germany for it's good development? Or your own city or Brasilia? These place would be much more suitable!
