the land is at Tabuan Jaya, opposite Coramax new develpment, VivaCity. Dont know if Kenbest is overstretching itself. They have another project opposite Premier 101 and the Upland Residence. Also City One Mall seems to be delayed. Looks like Dec 2012 opening or 1st quarter 2013.

what Kuching needs is just few shopping malls. Now eveyone seems to be building shophouses cum shopping centres but relatively small in size. The 2 new malls in Klang/Selangor (see below) is what we need. Quality and not quantity.

man, now shopping malls are mushrooming throughout the kch-samarahan region...

during the old days, i would be able to explore all malls... but now it's not possible... not to mention the upcoming summer mall, eastern mall, city one, ST3, kompleks islam, new boulevard, and not to mention giants...

just within a 10 years time frame, kch changes a lot... huhu

Yes, I remembered 12 years ago when I was working in Kuching. Hock Lee Centre was newly opened and was the place for Hangout. I think Kuching does need some more malls to attract regional tourist.

For tourist from Singapore, KL, CHina, Korea, Europe, etc natures are the luring attractions but for regional tourist from Sibu, Miri, Sabah and Kalimantan, cosmopolitan atmosphere will be the main attraction, and nothing represent cosmopolitanism more than malls.

No restaurants? Like HK or Chinese? Should have more specialty food shops...you know for entertaining clients...

I agree with you. For Borneoan tourists, cosmopolitan atmosphere is the main attraction because the nature is every where.

It was also still on the layout plan a few weeks ago. But suddenly when they updated it, the top floor has now been changed to accomodate Spa/Karaoke facilities. Oh well :p

Spa and Karaoke is a magnet to attract gangsters if management is not strict with the operation.
