TNHB sent a preparing for constructing 1072 new houses for the recovery of damaged houses in Rs.32 crores.

In Erode in the year of 1984 & 1987, TNHB constructed housing board complexes in 3 phase at Periyar nagar, Perumpallam & Karungalpalayam.

Now most of these houses were in damaged condition. So they are processing for constructing 1072 new houses by replacing the old one's in these areas.

Other than this, housing board complexes are there at Kollampalayam, Muthampalayam, Manikampalayam(5 phases), sampath nagar, Pudumai colony and several others.

Also there is undergoing construction of high-grade housing apartments at Periyar nagar with 4 floors each.

Renovation works at Kalingarayan irrigation canal has been started at Rs.10.50 crores.

Kalingarayan canal is built before 1300 years by diverting water from bhavani river in Kalingarayan Dam near Erode. This flows through a stretch of entire 90kms, covering a half of Erode district.

It starts 20kms north of Erode and ends near Kodumudi, 70kms south.

Due to the textile, dying and leather processing tanneries and proceesing units in the areas like Bhavani, RN Pudur, BP Agraharam, Mamarathupalayam,Vairapalayam,Karungalpalayam, Marapalam, Vendipalayam, Solar, Lakkapuram of the city, it has been polluted more.

For preventing it from pollution, Govt. planned to build a full stretch concrete wall in the entire right side of the canal.

Also this renovation process will include repairing of 382 barrages and 7 bridges across it.

பவானிசாகர் யூனியன் தொட்டம்பாளையத்திலிருந்து வெள்ளியம்பாளையம் வரை ஆற்றுக்கு மேலே மேம்பாலம் கட்டும் பணி மூன்று மாதமாக நடந்து வருகிறது. பாலம் பணி நிறைவடைந்த பின் சத்தி செல்லாமல் புளியம்பட்டியில் இருந்து பண்ணாரி செல்லும் வகையில் பைபாஸ் ரோடு அமைகிறது.

ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் தொட்டம்பாளையத்தில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கானோர் வசிக்கின்றனர். நெசவுத்தொழிலே இங்கு பிரதானம். தொட்டம்பாளையம் அருகே பவானியாற்றை கடந்தால் வெள்ளியம்பாளையம் கிராமம் அமைந்துள்ளது. இக்கிராமத்தை சுற்றி பல ஊர்கள் உள்ளன. இப்பகுதி மக்கள் பவானிசாகர், தொட்டம்பாளையம் வர வேண்டுமென்றால் பரிசல் மூலம் ஆற்றைக் கடந்து வர வேண்டிய சூழல். பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் மேல்நிலைப்படிப்புக்கு தொட்டம்பாளையம் செல்ல வேண்டியுள்ளது. தினமும் வெள்ளியம்பாளையத்திலிருந்து பரிசலில் பயணித்து, பின்னர் பள்ளிக்கு செல்வர். பவானியாற்றின் குறுக்கே பாலம் அமைத்து தர வேண்டும் என 20 ஆண்டு காலமாகவே இவ்விரு பகுதி மக்களும் கோரி வந்தனர்.

இவர்களின் கோரிக்கையை ஏற்று, நெடுஞ்சாலைத்துறை அமைச்சர் சாமிநாதன் முயற்சியில், தற்போது பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணி நபார்டு வங்கி நிதியுதவியுடன் துவங்கியுள்ளது. இதன் மதிப்பீடு நான்கு கோடியே 22 லட்சம் ரூபாய். பணியின் மொத்த காலம் 18 மாதங்கள். வேலை துவங்கி மூன்று மாதமாகிவிட்ட நிலையில் இன்னும் 15 மாதங்களில் பாலம் பணியை முடிக்கவுள்ளனர். பாலம் பணிக்காக ஆற்றை ஒருபுறம் தடுத்து தண்ணீரை இன்னொரு புறம் திருப்பி விட்டுள்ளனர். கோவை - மைசூரு தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலையில் சத்தி நகர்ப்பகுதிக்கு செல்லாமல் புளியம்பட்டியில் இருந்து நேராக பண்ணாரி சென்றடையும் வகையில் பைபாஸ் ரோடு அமைய உள்ளது. இதற்காகவே இந்தப் பாலம் கட்டப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

சத்தியமங்கலம் நகராட்சி 50 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்கள் வசிக்கும் பகுதி. இவ்வூரிலிருந்து கோவை, ஈரோடு, மேட்டுப்பாளையம், மைசூரு, பவானி ஆகிய ஊர்களுக்கு ரோடுகள் பிரிகின்றன. கோவை - சத்தி ரோடு எந்நேரமும் போக்குவரத்து மிகுந்திருக்கும். கோவையிலிருந்து மைசூரு செல்லும் கனரக வாகனங்கள் சரக்குகளை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு சத்தியமங்கலம் வழியாகத்தான் செல்லும். சரக்கு வாகனங்களின் வரத்து அதிகரிப்பால், சத்தி நகருக்குள் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசல் ஏற்படுகிறது.

இதற்கு மாற்று வழி செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பது சத்தியமங்கலம் மக்களின் பல ஆண்டு கோரிக்கை. அக்கோரிக்கை கோவை - மைசூரு பைபாஸ் திட்டம் மூலம் நிறைவேறுகிறது. கோவையிலிருந்து புஞ்சைபுளியம்பட்டி வந்து பவானிசாகர் ரோட்டில் பிரிந்து சென்று தொட்டம்பாளையம் - வெள்ளியம்பாளையம் இணைப்பு பாலம் வழியே பண்ணாரி சென்று பின்னர் மைசூரு செல்லும் வகையில் இந்த பைபாஸ் ரோடு அமையவுள்ளது. இதனால், சத்தியமங்கலத்தில் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசல் குறையும் என்பதில் ஐயமில்லை. தங்களின் 20 ஆண்டு பாலம் கனவு நனவாவதால் வெள்ளியம்பாளையம் கிராம மக்களும் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியில் உள்ளனர்.

URC Group of Companies opens a multi-speciality Hospital in Erode.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare S. Gandhiselvan declared open the URC Hospitals, a new multi-speciality physical medicine and rehabilitation facility, here on Sunday.

Interacting with the doctors, the minister urged them to extend quality healthcare services to the people particularly those from the rural areas.

Stating that rehabilitation service was given more importance by the Central and State governments, Mr. Gandhiselvan stressed that the differently abled persons in the society should be given adequate opportunities to lead a decent life and access quality healthcare.

The hospital, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, provides specialised services including nerve conduction study and computerised muscle testing.

In Erode, 41.38 Lakhs of Chickens are grown for Egg, in 106 Poultries and 63.9 Lakhs of Broiler Chickens in 1,197 Poultry farms.

For testing of Chickens, Central Government has established Poultry Research Institute in Erode at a cost of Rs.26.40 Lakhs in 2001 Dec.

Now, for testing Swine-flu, the Central Government opens a Model Research Laboratory for Swine-flu in Erode in the Poultry Research Institute Campus at a cost of Rs.22 Lakhs.

High class Medi-Equipments are bought in Rs.12 Lakhs.....

ஈரோடு மாநகரில் நாளுக்கு நாள் வாகன எண்ணிக்கை பெருகி, போக்குவரத்து நெரிசல் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. இதன் காரணமாக, புது ஆட்டோக்களுக்கு 'பர்மிட்' வழங்குவது நிறுத்தப்பட்டது.

ஈரோடு மாநகரில் பெருகி வரும் ஆட்டோக்களால் 'பீக் ஹவர்' நேரங்களில் சாலை போக்குவரத்தில் பெரும் நெரிசல் ஏற்பட்டு, பொதுமக்கள் பெரிதும் அவதிப்படுகின்றனர்.

ஈரோடு மாநகரம் மற்றும் மாவட்டப் பகுதியில் மட்டும் 5,000 ஆட்டோக்கள் ஓடுகின்றன. இதுதவிர, வெளி மாவட்டங்களில் 'பர்மிட்' பெற்ற ஆயிரத்துக்கும் அதிகமான ஆட்டோக்கள் ஈரோடு மாநகர் பகுதியில் இயங்கி வருகின்றன.

சமீபத்தில் ஆட்டோக்களுக்கு 'பர்மிட்' வழங்க தமிழக அரசு முடிவு செய்துள்ளது. ஈரோடு மாநகரில் தற்போது 1,200 ஆட்டோக்களுக்கு 'பர்மிட்' உள்ளதாக கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஈரோட்டில் தேவைக்கு அதிகமாக ஆட்டோக்கள் உள்ளன.

Works for the much awaited underground drainage (UGD) project of Erode Corporation have begun in the town recently.

Apart from covering all the parts in Erode City, the project will also cover the abutting local bodies, which will soon be merged with the Corporation. Sewers will run for 504.4 km and the project will have 12 pumping and 10 lift stations to cover Surampatti, Kasipalayam, Veerappan Chatram and Periya Semur municipalities and Erode Corporation.

Also there is a plan for constructing an ROB at Vendipalayam for ease of traffic towards south via Solar BS.

Erode Corporation had a huge land in Solar area off Karur highways.

The present RTO Office was constructed in a part of that land.

Also another part is alloted for Solid Waste Management scheme.

And the other site in Solar-transport nagar is completely concreted with 4 decks is now being used as cricket ground.

There is a contradiction with Corporation and present users of these lands. Only because of this, the Solar BS is still a dream for more than 10 years.

Now, the Government ordered the users to surrender the land to Corporation.

Land acquisition is in progress now. Once the land problem gets cleared, it will become operational.

Then the South-bound buses(towards KRR, TRY, MDU, DGL, TNL, TUT, Vellakoil) will be operated from here. Also the traffic in Central BS will be reduced.

In area wise, the Bus stand near Swastik circle in Erode, is the second largest, next to Koyambedu CMBT. But still its struggling to handle the traffic since the increase in bus transportation in both town bus and mofussil services.

Also this bus stand is located in centre of the city. so that all the city road need to handle the buses moving towards here. So as to free the traffic in the city, the Corporation planned to construct new bus stands.

An Authority from this corporation said that they have decided to construct mofussil bus stands in two places of the city.

One is at near Solar on Karur highway, which will handle the buses towards South TN.

And for another one, they are now in the phase of deciding the location. (BUT I DON'T KNOW, HOW MUCH EXACT THE INFORMATION IS!)

If I am not wrong, it may be near Thindal or Chithode(Off NH-47 byepass). If it is sure, then this terminus will be handling the traffic from West(Kovai, Tirupur,Ooty,Pollachi,Kerala,Mysore,Sathy,..)

And in Pallipalayam(which is a part of Erode city but not included in Corporation), which comes under Namakkal district, the municipality has released tender to build a bus stand near the Cauvery Bridge. If its open, then it can handle the traffic from East(Chennai,Vellore,Salem,Tirupathi,Namakkal,Tanjore...)

If so, then the Central BS(BS at swastik circle) will handle the buses from North (Bangalore, Anthiyur, Dharmapuri, Hosur, Mettur, Krishnagiri...) and City bus and Mini bus services only.

If this all happens, then the traffic in the City will be reduced to half.

In one hand, government has formed Vellore corporation by including other towns at a distance of 40kms from vellore town, and announced it as a city corporation.

But, in the other hand, the status of Erode City Corp. is exact 'ULTA'.

Pallipalayam and its surrounding areas(a part of Erode city, but not in corp. limit, comes under Namakkal district)

The corporation limit doesn't cover Pallipalayam areas, which is just on the eastern banks of cauvery river, while the mainlands of Erode is on the western banks.

Now, the Pallipalayam is an individual municipality, which is at a distance of just 3kms from Erode Central BS.

The Postal division and every other departments before a long back itself, joined pallipalayam areas with Erode city. But still Govt and Corp. doesn't minds this.
