The hexagonal figures of historic Islamic art in the green mosque of Bursa inspired the structure of the stadium’s roof.

This stadium is not only a sporting venue – it marks a new gathering place for the locals at the heart of their city.

The stadium and the surrounding park are well connected to the public transport system through metro, tram and buses. Also, the city centre is easily accessible by foot. The whole concept for the location marks an achievement in sustainable development for the city and is certain to improve the quality of life in Bursa for all residents.

Bursa should consider 40k capacity or at least expandable to 40k in future, bcs they are a club with big fan potential. In the case that Turkey bid for a world cup in future either on its own or together with Greece, Bursa is a definite world cup city candidate. As far as i know min capacity requirement for WCup is 40k.

I prefer it to the other one...it looks like one of the tiers has been made into a single, massive tier, while the other sides still have two? Bit like Liverpool's "Kop" end...?

UEFA is not happy with the location (current old stadium).
Too small etc.

Project will be changed.
New location: Acemler (Metro is already there)
New Capacity: 43,000

- location is much better! more open space, a park and metro next to the stadium.
- stadium cap expansion to >40.000 is also smart! it seems like bursa-supporters need and want a bigger capacity.
- the design, well... i hope, it won't be that kitschy. a lil bit more abstracted version of the croc would be better. like this version of the snake/dragon in Taiwan - Toyo Ito:

but, all-in-all its a smart decision for bursa, the turkish league and the euro2016 bid.
