I would really love to see Cleveland. It seems to be loaded with fine buildings and homes.

Very true. I thought about buying a condo in Shaker Heights or near Shaker Square. It's not expnsive at all!

Some fine buildings and a, seemingly, pleasant place to live.

Sometimes it was, sometimes it wasn't. I hated the winters there. I remember when I was interning at Sen. Browns office at the Erietower, I would often have to walk three or four blocks from my car to the front of the building. By the time I got there, I was about frozen. lol I do miss the the Rapid though! It came in handy when I didn't feel like driving to campus and spending 20 mins looking for a place to park.

From the pictures I have seen of Shaker Heights/Shaker Square, it appears to be an ideal place to buy a condo. And be set for life.

A lot of american states, certainly, seem to be subject to some extreme weather conditions.

In Britain, the saying is that " we don't so much have a climate, as we have weather" - temperate & unpredictable.

I remember that. My father and I lived in Thetford and it took us some time to get use to the weather in the UK. But it was all worth it! By the time we were scheduled to leave in 1991, none of us were wanting to leave!
