Absolutely ! Works from San Giovanni to the Colosseum have just begun and will be completed within the end of 2015 despite the critical financial situation of our country.

Nice to see improvements in Roman mass transit. Tell me, is it really an unreliable system to use?

Not at all. Why should it be ? It's pretty aged and used but absolutely reliable and affordable compared to other major european cities.

I think will be unuseful spend words with people like her.
I prefer show you with pictures what happening in the city:
Roman transport still need more improvements, but in more less 10 years changed a lot.

Some clear examples:

Almost all buses are new and equipped with air conditioning and LCD screens:

http://affaritaliani.libero.it/stati...moby-tv-21.jpg

On the A line there are just full A/C trains (and the B line is following the good example as u can see in the last picture)

In the last 12 years 6 new subway stations was opened:

Within the next 2 years the first part of C line and an extension of B line will be open (26 new stations!!), that means that the subway network will grow of 80% more less.

Here an example of the new stations design (really not bad for Rome isn't it?):

We have 8 new metropolitan train lines, that connect Rome with his metropolitan Area.

We installed thousands of new shelters and hundreds of electronic displays to the bus stops

ATAC MOBILE, the wireless service who gives you all the informations about the public transport in Rome (also the bus waiting times), you can try it right now here:
http://www.atacmobile.it/atacmobile....=set&locale=en
Anyway u can find also great and free app for your smartphone in the android market and on the apple App Store for the bus waiting times.

http://www.iochiamo.com/wp-content/u...ina_elettr.jpg

Inside buses and trams we are installing wi-fi hot spots, as well as in the subway stations and tunnels;

There is one integrated ticket for all kind of transport within the city.
We made easier buy tickets installing the new Ticket Machines (they "speak" 5 languages) and also ticket machines on the buses and trams:

http://www.corriereromano.it/public/...dbiglietto.JPG

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_OXCtJgarO2...0biglietti.png

And more there is to tell.

All this doesn't make Rome a perfect city on the Public Transport side, but, we are working hard to become better, day by day.

Good morning.

I have a question about the Annibaliano metro station.

I read one of the features is "banchine sovrapposte sul piano verticale, 150m di sviluppo"

However I don't really understand what this means.

So I guess the platform will be 150 m long --- but the platforms are on top of eachother?????

Thanks for any info on what they actually mean.

Yes, the platforms are "overlapped" each other, due to lack of space for the construction site, I guess

Thanks for your response XIX

So I guess we could call it a two-level platform?

I mean, in English I have never heard of an "overlapping" platform so I am trying to find the best (most understandable to UK/USA ears) term to convey the meaning.

Maybe "platforms stacked on top of each other"
