Wembley City £3.4bn Regeneration | Brent | U/C
As there is no thread for the big regeneration of the wembley area, i have started one.
The regeneration is 42 acres. Does anyone have any pictures of the regeneration they could post? |

![]() There's more info. on Brent Council's site, and on the Wembley page of Wikipedia (but that also needs a lot of stuff added, if anyone isn't doing anything...) Last edited by Jon10; October 7th, 2009 at 12:57 PM. |

I hate overgrown stuff on Railway Tracks, looks messy. Either clear it or make it a proper mini-meadow feature (must tick a few 'green boxes')

Those twin gateway towers look dreadfully out of proportion compared to the stadium, perhaps its just a render inaccuracy or it would look rather unsettling.

Yes a bit of a mixed-bag N1. It would be helpful if Brent could commission a model/3d visualisation showing the actual proposal together. Incidently the local borough ward goes by the unusual name of Tokyngton. Never heard of it before - but it's there on the maps.
Further to the north of the borough near Colindale (so outside the masterplan area) this 17 floor proposal was recently (2009) granted permission for a site on Capitol Way near the Edgware Road. It's by Dunnett Craven architects http://www.london.gov.uk/mayor/plann...ay_report.pdf; ![]()

I have to agree. there is a lot of hopscotch cladding- no variety in that respect it also just seems a bit cheap in places, what looks good now may not look so good in 10 years time

Few nice buildings but LOTS of ugly dredful buildings too. What were they thinking putting up a 'green' coloured building in an iconic area?!

I actually find alot of the buildings going up around Wembley quiet interesting. Yes the green buildings a bit strange? but there is alot here that will definately lift the area architectually. It's just ashame the recession has slowed things down so much.

Those two towers down Wembley Way don't provide a focal point, they detract from the focal point that the Arch provides. Agree that a lot of the planned buildings look bad and the whole thing looks incoherent. Greenwich Peninsula is much better.
