AIG Tower is rather pretty. But, its lighting is not obvious at night.

Even though the entrance doesn't fit the building so well its one of the bests i've ever seen. Its a great building overall
Maybe we will have to wait a while to see the signature on its place and lightup..

The lobby looks fancy. I can't wait untill it gets completely lit up at night.

不填海 中區難獲新土地

【明報專訊】今明兩年中區僅有2棟甲級商廈落成,明年才落成的置地廣場東翼亦已迅即租出,2007年起中區將沒有新商廈落成(見表)。縱使中環街市地皮已列入土地儲備表,但最快明年才可申請出售,目前中區可作商業發展的碩果僅存地皮,如郵政總局及港外線碼頭巴士總站等地皮,推出時間遙遙無期。

今明兩年2新廈 07年後停落成

政府已陸續把上環巴士總站、中環國金2期對開的港外線碼頭巴士總站改劃為商業用途,並認為郵政總局及政府總部具潛力轉作商業發展,但除兩幅巴士站地皮可即時推出發展,其餘兩幅地皮均受制於現時的規劃及中環填海計劃。一名資深地產界人士指出,在保護維港的前提下,未來中環及灣仔已再難透過填海得到土地,「大家只看到不填海的好處,但不填海的問題卻較少人留意到」。

其實不填海,是否可從山上取得土地﹖他說,目前大型機構使用的寫字樓,講究每層面積要夠大,若在山上平整一個大面積地盤,需要削走大部分山坡,實際上不太可行,所以現時在威靈頓街等位處山坡的商廈,地盤面積普遍只得數千方呎。

「在向山拿不到,向海又拿不到土地的情下,未來中區商廈供應將會出現不足」。他透露,即使是政府,亦未意識到這個問題,除已計劃推出的中環街市等少數地皮外,假設由現在開始研究、規劃、推出地皮至到落成,未來5年中區商廈的供應將會相當短缺。他認為,政府需考慮在中區以外,建立另一個商業區,其中觀塘區近年已逐步由工業區轉變為商業區,不少業主已將工廈改作寫字樓用途,若政府加強配套設施,觀塘區有條件成為一個商業區。

"3 ifc " would be very short ,because the height limit at the area is 50 metres .
P.S: AIG Tower is 80% leased.

hella good, AIG lighting system is still being installed. What you are seeing in that pic is NOT the lighting system, pure light bulbs being installed temporarily inside the building.

Some top-crown illumination seems needed, but I guess It will eventually has that at last since it's not fully finished..

i don't like how part of the roof has no glass cladding. otherwise, it's a very decent building. it helps to bring more blue into hong kong's skyline.
