Dallas may not have the best skyline in the South, but its hard to rival it's skyline at night.

^I'll deliver the news before an ATL booster comes, and starts to slam you. "Ever Heard of a town called ATLANTA?"

Aside from that i wish the OP would've only picked 2 or 3 cities, because cities like Houston have no chance, and maybe some people will take this as a chance to degrade some cities.

I think I'll have to go with Atlanta on this one, but I like how Richmond and Norfolk have the edges of their buildings lit up at night:

This is a ridiculous list. You have two very different skyline levels in those cities. You would naturally have Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, and Miami in a tier by themselves.
Then you should have a larger 2nd tier list with Charlotte, New Orleans, and if Austin is on there then Nashville, Tampa, Jacksonville, and maybe even Louisville should be on there. |

Atlanta. Its downtown appears to have a very nice tight cluster of attractive buildings. Plus, they look especially nice when lit up at night. Dallas and Houston also have attractive skylines, but I had to give my vote to Atlanta because its skyscrapers are more distinctive-looking and for how they look at night.

My vote goes to Miami. While aside from Bank of America, none of the buildings are dazzling at night it’s skyline at night illustrates the whole “total is greater than the sum of its parts” phenomenon. As a whole, the lighting scheme of downtown seems more coherent and it just looks like the buildings are made out of candy. Delicious. The lit (lighted?) bridges are great. Its hard to compete with a big body of water. They (perhaps unfairly) make skylines look better, especially at night. The reflections and the wall of light (building facades and lighting schemes tend to face the waterfront) give these cities an edge. It looks like a scene one could find along the South China sea..
Atlanta has prettier buildings at night, but I think that as a whole, Miami beats it. Last edited by spencer114; October 13th, 2009 at 02:00 AM. |
