That is nice. Even though is not a lot... it still packs a lot of heat.

Now I regret giving my vote to Atlanta.

Why? It still doesn't beat Atlanta.

It's a hard call, it would definitely be between Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and Miami. All four are also constantly changing so I'd be hard pressed to say any will take the lead in terms of size. Personally I like the architecture in Atlanta's skyline more out of the three, but thats just my opinion. Austin's transformation is amazing, if you left the city in 2004 and came back today you wouldn't recognize it.

I think a better form topic would be outside of these cities, which southern city has the best skyline?

We do have a lot of buildings like that video in Dallas in Miami Beach (South Beach) with the changing lights....that is so Miami Beach no doubt.

There is no doubt that Atlanta skyline at night and buildings are superior....the crowns on top of those buildings help a lot too....so New York City like. I just don't undersatnd why Miami does not get crowns on their buildings...Malasia does and they do get hurricanes (Typhons) so it has nothing to do with the location and the weather...

maybe because many of Miami's buildings are residential which seemingly are not usually crowned. Even in New York many of the big residential towers are not crowned. For example, the 900 ft trump bldg, Beekman, W 57th, proposed Church Street.

Actually, we do have a few crowns and spires. They are just not as noticeable as they are in Atlanta and not as pronounced. I think our lack of crowns and spires has more to do with the fact that developers here were looking to sell as many units as they could rather than hurricanes being a factor, and most crowns are too small to put office space or a penthouse in. I'm not all that big on spires myself because I think they look too retro, too old New York, whereas as I find angled tops more futuristic-looking such as what we have with 1450 Brickell, Mint, Met2 and Marina Blue. Even Wachovia looks futuristic too me with that V-shape at the top from the Rickenbacker Causeway. It's just not that noticeable at night in the way that the Miami Tower is, and it seems they've toned down the light ladder at Plaza at Brickell for energy conservation. The Marquis still has a pretty impressive light ladder though.

Very shocking how low Houston is in the polls. Atlanta's skylines are very small compared to Houston's..

Okay, then provide us with some pictures that show how well Houston lights up at night being this is the best NIGHT skyline thread and not the who has the biggest skyline thread.

OKAY, this is my NIGHT time city skyline comparison, not largest, not best, just night time only:

1 Atlanta
2 Miami (nearly tied with Atlanta)
3 Dallas
4 Houston
5 Charlotte (made good progress in recent years)

Bladerunner-esque? You must be as old as I am or maybe you just like old movies.
