thanks Looking/Up! and yeah, I agree, and like what I always tell my friends from around the globe, the world lives here in Toronto!

Thats from the islands. The Centre Island ferry takes you right to that spot, though I don't think it runs during the winter. There are two other ferries to the islands though and I know one of them runs during the winter.

MarkHerz, wow... these pictures were amazing. Thanks so much for sharing.

I think the Centre Island ferry runs all year round, but if not the Ward Island one does for sure.

so is the ferry the only way one can get there? no subway or bus?

There is no way to get to the Toronto Islands other than by boat. I don't know what the name of the ferry that runs in winter is called, but there is a water taxi. Perhaps, that runs all year.

There are people who live on the Islands year round, so there's definitely a way to get back and forth.

There's also a school on the island! Many of the children who live along the waterfront go there. They take a boat to school.

isaidso is right, the ferry is the only way to get there.

I was right, the Centre Island ferry is already out of service for the winter. Your only options are the Wards Island ferry which runs 7 days a week, or the Hanlan's Point ferry, which runs Monday-Friday

yeah, it is, and I love Brazil too, especially the people, so fun-loving, lively and energetic.
even though I don't have any immediate associations with Brazilians, except for some friends, I always find myself cheering for your country in sporting events (if Canada is not included ) especially in volleyball and soccer! haha
And Leila Barros is close to my heart, I dont know if you know her. I hope to visit Rio soon! or perhaps, attend the Olympics (fingers crossed)

Once snow starts falling this Winter, you guys have to keep Toronto threads updated with tons of snowy photos.

That might be regular to you but when you come from a country where hardly ever snows, you aprecciate it.
