It was very clean, to get in it people took off their shoes
or come with clean ones. I think that would've been a challenge here, anyways you're probably right, but I just loved that idea.

You have got my respect, Miesosoup and Elicatis.
Interesting work, a lot of thought and better yet, the fact that you are not to stubborn not to accept proper critique. In life there is no good or wrong, there are boundaries, ideologies and principles which need be taken into consideration. Again, great job and best of luck with all of your future work! |

Thanks you.
Man...after doing a project like this you realize that there is no ONE solution. And I could re-start this project and do it completely different. But that is what I like about this city, its not complete, it is a mish-mash of east and west, and there is a lot of opportunity for the presence of new innovative architecture to make a tangible difference in society, even if it is only the renovation of historic buildings or a big modern new museum. I feel like the proposal that sets up a "forest"/park in front of the parliament is the best solution now. I also saw an interview with Dorin Stefan (you guys know him? If not you should google him) where he was proposing something like this because it would (over time) transform the image of the parliament from being a big ugly imposing communist monument to being something like a Mansion in the forest. You know those big British and French castles from the 1700s in the woods? Something like that. It wouldn't hurt to put some skyscrapers behind it too. Anyway what the city really needs (when the crisis is over) is an international competition to design a masterplan for that area. But I'm sure one day it will happen. |
