gonna be amazing in 15-20 years. but i hope they preserve these green spaces and turn them into parks. like central park in manhatten
somehow this tower grows on me with its bold hugeness. like john hancock in chigaco.

More of the old mill lands, slums, and dilapidated stuctures must be completely demolished to make room for new skyscrapers and/or public parks. Much preferably, public parks.

This had to be one of the, if not the, ugliest supertalls under construction anywhere in the world.

i agree and it will look better when it is not alone anymore aswell, as a stand alone tower it doesn't fit that well, but this will change anyways

Seems this tower is a very divisive tower and a magnet for India bashing. However Here are some interesting facts about this building.

1. This is one of the first towers built in India based on International Labor Laws.
The workers are not only highly paid BUT they also receive living quarters, Training etc.
2. The Construction management is completely new for India. Most of the Laborers working on the building are either skilled OR have had extensive training.

Anti-corrosive coatings being applied to the supertall roof (and built top floors) being completed-
(the lower floors are being cladded with Corian Cladding)

Also one can judge the size of this monster by comparing a person working on suspended scaffolding.

Thank you, ZZ-II and GFKT!

Tracing the progress in height of PR's top floors from previous updates and where PR stands today:

The core reached 70th floor in April 2012.

The constructed floor slabs crossed 70th floor in November 2012

The roof of 70th floor was placed and the stirrups were tied to a part of extended rebars on January 18, 2013 for the top floors

The roof of 73rd floor was completely constructed (292.8 m). The core crossed the 75th floor at 301 m in March 2013

Based on the core height, PR became a super-tall in March 2013.

The photos from October 2013 show that the roof of the 75th floor is constructed.

Based on completed roof height of the 75th floor at 301 m, PR became a super-tall in October 2013.

Thanks to _Forum_, it's confirmed the steel elements at the two sides above the roof are for the Lift Machine Room that's U/C.
Upon the completion of both Lift Machine Rooms and the outer perimeter beam, PR will then be completely T/O at 320 m.

_Forum_ explains where we are now in the first picture, and what remains in the second picture:

PR is currently at this stage (pic 1) and the extended core will finally reach perimeter beam (pic 2)

I like the octagonal roof piece, but am not sure about the rest. Guess I'll have to wait to see it fully clad.
