jantelagen is not swedish and this is not related to jantelagen either.

Swedes are actually more open minded towards people than many other if you would compare to other countries, especially a lot of skyscraper nations.

Nimbysm however exists in all european countries..

Of what I understand it's only parts of Tors Torn which has been redesigned.
Anyway it is going to be interesting to see what they've come up with!

– Gestaltningsprogrammet befinner sig just nu i en revideringsfas, och arbetet beräknas vara färdigt omkring årsskiftet för beslut i stadsbyggnadsnämnden. Då ska alla gestaltningsfrågor redovisas samlat – bostadskvarteren, de offentliga rummen och Tors torn, berättar Aleksander Wolodarski.

Tors torn blir en port in till staden
Utöver den höga exploateringsgraden har Tors torn, det omkring 145 meter högra tornpar som ska uppföras vid Torsplan, dragit mycket uppmärksamhet till sig.

– Tors torn ska ses som en port in till staden och fungera som ett nav mellan gammal och ny bebyggelse, förklarar Aleksander Wolodarski.

Aleksander Wolodarski poängterar att många intressen ska vägas samman, inte minst de ekonomiska, innan den slutgiltiga utformningen är klar. Gestaltning, funktion och ekonomi är alla byggstenar som kräver hänsyn:

– Oslo Naeringseiendom har fått markanvisning till att bygga tornen, och vi har en nära dialog med dem. Det pågår förhandlingar om de ekonomiska förutsättningarna och gestaltningen, och de beräknas vara i hamn förhoppningsvis före årsskiftet. Tornens volymer är klara, men det slutliga uttrycket återstår i form av fasadens bearbetning och materialval.

Gulmarkerade byggnader
De byggnader som är markerade i gult ska inrymma handels- och kontorsverksamhet.

- Kvarter 1 byggs av NCC och har byggstart 2011.
- Kvarter 35 har byggstart 2014.

Rödmarkerade kvarter
De rödmarkerade byggnaderna står för nya bostäder.

- Kvarter 2 - 6 har planerad byggstart under perioden 2014 - 2016.
- Kvarter 7 - 11 ska uppföras under 2017 - 2019.
- Kvarter 25 - 33 har möjlig byggstart 2019.


Orange markering
I de kvarter som är markerade i orange planeras för hotellverksamhet.

- Västra Tors torn har byggstart 2014.
- Kvarter 25, intill Nortull, har möjlig byggstart 2019.


Blåmarkerade kvarter och byggnader
De blåmarkerade kvarteren och byggnaderna ska alla inrymma verksamheter inom vetenskapsområdet Life Science.

- Östra Tors torn har planerad byggstart 2012.
- Kvarter 28 N - 31N ovanpå den intunnlade sträckningen av E4/E20 kan börja byggas 2017.
- Kvarter 34, "Vetenskapshuset" och kvarter 36 har båda möjlig byggstart 2019.

well Solna and Stockholm WILL be connected! Karolinska (or Haga as the "district"? (stadsdel) is called) is a part of Solna. it is still far from Solna Centrum but it is Solna.

But if you want to be correct then Stockholm is a part of the old Solna Parish (Socken) so they have been connected for a long long time

I was surprised to hear that Sundbyberg used to belong to Bromma and if it hadn't been seperated from Bromma it would now be a part of Stockholm and not as it is now what I believe is Swedens smallest municipality.
