Finally june!

This is the month when the redesigned Tors Torn will be presented!
Really exciting i must say and I hope it's not just a glas facade that's been put on the buildings. Can't remember if an exact date was given or if it was anytime in june?

I hope to see EVEN better looking buildings than the first render. I'm in love with Tors Torn and I really really like the current design but I hope the new renders will be even more beautiful! The buildings are approved right? It's all ready to go? I hope to see it U/C before the new year.

Yes but the the plan for the first part of Norra station including Tors Torn has been appealed. Unfortunately the appeal process can be a lengthy one and no construction of apartments are planned for this year, the first appartments are planned to start next year, and Tors Torn is planned for 2013-2014. Don't know if the appeals are considered when setting those dates though?

Found out through an earlier post in the Stockholm projects thread, posted in march, that the new look of Tors Torn will be presented on June 15th!

Not what I'm aware off! But it sure would be nice!
That date above got delayed and I sent an email to the city hall and got an answer that the partly redrawn Tors Torn hopefully would be presented in the autumn.

Some try everything to delay or stop Tors Torn, which has been aproved but is appealed.
Luckily JO didn't bother to go further with the the claim of wrong doings by Hyresgästföreningen in Norrmalm.

Hyresgästföreningen i Norrmalm har JO-anmält behandlingen av detaljplanen av Tors Torn.
Kritiken riktar sig främst mot att inget nytt samråd ägde rum och informerade de närboende trots att stadsbyggnadskontoret och stadsbyggnadsnämnden gick med på att tornen ritades om och gjordes 40 meter högre. Anmälan har granskats av JO men ärendet har avskrivits från vidare handläggning.

Hoping for that updated Tors Torn soon!

I'm afraid it is appealed.

Kommunfullmäktige approved the plan on march 15th, 2010 and people had time to appeal untill april 14th, 2010 which someone or I rather suspect quite a few did.
Just which that länsstyrelsen could deny (hopefully) the appeal quite soon so that people then can appeal (which they will) to the government, I want this over and done with as quickly as possible.
But it won't be quick enough for me anyway! What is the apeal process if it goes all the way to the government? A year? One and a half year?

I'm also afraid what will happen if Länsstyrelsen denys the appeal and it ends on the governments table and we at that point might have Miljöpartiet and Vänsterpartiet in the government, taking the final decision on this project. I'm quite sure that the there will be someone from miljöpartiet leading the governments work in Miljödepartementet which handles all appeals of this sort.

There are of course reasons to be concerned for all sorts of project all over Sweden in that case. It is my personal opinion of course , others might very well disagree!

By the way the eastern tower is planned to have it's construction started 2012 and the western tower in 2015.

So did this project get a go or a no no? Is it finance problems or NIMBYs/MPs chucking this into pieces? First middle of june and then one new date after another for the new design (40% of height?) etc.

Anyway, just curious what's really happening with these towers/buildings.
Oh and yeah, of course I'm a fan of the design as of now.

It is still appealed to begin with and I think it's still appealed to Länstyrelsen and when they have handled it it will of course get appealed to the government!

About the partly redrawn highrises your guess is as good as mine! Waitning for it impatiently!

I havn't heared anything about 40 % of height, so what is that all about?

norra stationsområdet is going to get built . .the new bridge is almost finished, this week they are putting pavement on the temporary roads so everything is going according to the schedule

personally i think the towers will be built.

It's the whole part that has been appealed, the whole part which is lined darker below. It includes Tors Torn.



Not the paler part to the right, the planing for that part hasn't started yet.

I always find it to be quite strange that ground work start before all appeals are done, not that I'm against it geting built, hell no, but it is a bit odd!
Probably done to keep the project on schedule as Gosatta says it is.

I hope Tors Torn will be built but I won't be certain untill I see it rising!

It is appealed it is not legal. They start ground work all the time in Stockholm even though the plans are appealed, perhaps the bridge is on another plan and hasn't got to do anything with the Norra stations plan.
