Not sure if anybody has ever seen this video but I think it shows the city off brilliantly!

Aye, well done Jenson Button, it looks as though he can only overtake on corners, I guess he's confident that he can brake later then anyone else, or the car is actually capable of it. Anyway Mclaren seemed to have a car that is faster on the straights, so I think it will be much more closer next year. Brawn will need to increase the speed of their cars on the straights if they are to win next year.

Well, less then a week in to our new Sub-Forum and the whole of the NE and Humberside have posted over half a thousand posts.
All I can say is keep it up. P.S. It does say over 20,000 but that is also including all the threads that where transferd across. |

Can I ask for a few opinions.
We already have the Newcastle Metro Area Photography thread, as a STICKY. I am sure that over time, this will regularly fill up with NEW photos that we take around the City, and elsewhere. Now, I am also hoping that, similarly, the Historic Newcastle thread builds up with lot's of photos from bygone days . . there are already some great ones in there, mainly from maxtoon. To help with that, I was wondering if anyone would object if I asked the mods to also make the Historic Newcastle thread a sticky. We don't want too many sticky's, but I think that this one would probably be the last. Anyway, what do you think? |

I think it's got the potential to be a popular thread and it'd be worth stickying it, yeah.

Deffo sticky the photography. I'd imagine a lot of visitors to this forum and indeed the area itself will be interested in this.

Anyway lads, I was thinking about creating a Newcastle meet up thread. Many other Sub-Forums have these, and as stickies, but they don't seem to be full of life, only doing so onve or twice a year. So I thought it would be wise for us to just use this thread for that purpose aswell. I don't think it's worth creating a thread that will only gain 50 posts a year.

Newgate Street - Developments
Okay, so this is actually nearly done, but still worth a thread for the next few months.
I was in town today, and alot of it seemed to be getting re-pathed. Along with it being re-pathed, Low Friar St is being cut off, and for some reason they are re-enforcing the ground before they re-pathe it. St Andrews church has also had some work done on it aswell, and alot of the repathing work is being done directly outside of it, which is a good thing, because the path there is old, cracked and subsiding/dipping. This road will also be closed to traffic on Sunday. |

Newgate Street is going to be so thin once all the work is done - i guess it will only be one way like it is now?
