Thank you for the compliments regarding my photography. Although I won't post any at higher resolution, in future I will post directly to the forum instead of providing a link. There's a few more views over Newcastle I'd like to share and I'll post them in the relevant threads.

Quite impressed at the progress being made behind the sheets at Tyne Bridge Tower.
This is a shot taken yesterday (10th June 2011) with a comparison from February 2011 before the demolition took place.

Yeah, I was walking over the Tyne Bridge yesterday and thought the same. The remnants of TBT don't look like they'll be with us for very much longer.

Any chance of a picture of the Gateshead skyline as it is now, without TBT or Get Carter?

I tell you one thing (about Gateshead skyline), if they do go ahead and bulldoze the chandless estate as well as is rumoured, the gateshead skyline is going to look very boring indeed (well, if you like tall buildings anyway).
I think TBT is a bit of a missed opportunity - it was in a prime spot, they could easily have done a "swan house" and converted it into luxury appartments, they would have been worth quite a bit IMO and the views as already witnessed are fantastic. I am quite saddened by the demolition of all these tall buildings that is happening at the minute (TBT, car park, chandless (rumoured), dunston rocket, half of cruddas park etc ect ect). I don't know what the powers that be up here have against tall buildings... |

Of course it has yet to be decided if anything is actually built on the plot but i would be surprised if it anything that goes any higher than St Mary's Church. |

Looking forward to being back in Newcastle in a few weeks and seeing how this demolition has changed the skyline

It'll get even worse when that Tesco scheme is cobbled together, sadly.

Personally I think it looks much better without the tower. I’m really starting to appreciate that church for the first time. It might just be me but there seems to be a harmony between the church and the surrounding green which when the tower was there it seemed to disrupt that harmony.
