Yes, sure, i was going to do one for Middlehaven Phase 1, which is the two cubes, ciac and krusty and also public realm works. I'll also do a thread for riverside one, with all the other phases in. I'll try and get that done asap.

Hopefully as the economy picks up, this will start as soon as possible. If it does happen as planned, then Middlesbrough will be well on the up, and may get some good media attention for a change!

Construction could start this year if funding is secured, looks promising.

This building has been renamed to Qube. Much better than Krusty in my opinion.

I think the name Krusty would have put a lot of people off the building ,unless you were Spongebob Squarepants of course

''So, where do you live?''
''I live in Krusty''
''Eww''

The name change is shown on the official website.

The model of Qube in the marketing suite. Once again, apologies for the reflections of the glass boxes they're in.

On what official website? this one: http://riverside-one.com/

Has there been news on construction of the Qube or something? Think the area around the Qube looks as if it will be a high standard and will look very smart!!!

Yes, that's the one. You can see it on the masterplan.

Oh, I've always known it as Krusty until the marketing staff informed me otherwise. If all goes to plan, this building should begin construction in less than 13 months.

Lets hope so! According to a pdf i found on MBC planning website that showed in order each phase of the Riversideone development (which was quite interesting) the entertainment building to the left of CIAC, i think sugar cube 5 is meant to be built before The Qube.

I'd love to see the Sugar Cube next to The Qube be built, the kapalunk one i think, this one looks the best!

No-one knows why.

I wouldn't take that as gospel though, it may start sooner, at that time or even not at all!!!

Its been mentioned that this will start once CIAC is finished, i don't see the logic behind that, but fingers crossed, as that would mean within the coming months!

That's what I heard, too.

The only reasons I can think of are that it lessens disruption or that the land beneath it is reclaimed and they have to be careful. The dock was originally much bigger and I heard the land they're building on is from the bottom of the Tees.

On the council's planning application site, there's much reference to Sugar Cube 6. If you look at the original plans on Bioregional-Quintain's website, there are 8 cubes and 'Qube' is the sixth one from the far right. It suggests this is the sixth and should start soon.
