Digital agency to expand its team and move to a new office

A GATESHEAD-BASED digital agency is set to create jobs and move into new offices after securing a raft of contracts from across the North East.

AYO Media may have been set up only three years ago, but it has already established a long list of clients, which have all benefited from the firm’s expertise in website development and digital marketing.

Its expertise, which also includes process management and point of sale solutions, helps clients to improve efficiencies, profitability and allows them to measure their return on investment. This has helped the firm to grow its turnover by a third over the last year with its turnover also doubling to 13 members of staff over the same period.

The company now believes that it can grow to the same degree over the next 12 months as it prepares to move from its 800sqft offices in Mulgrave Terrace to new 2,500sqft offices within the Northern Design Centre, which is due to open in the Baltic Business Quarter early next year.

A visit to Northern Design Centre, on 14 October

Has not been much about this area so took camera out 01/11/11 PM and here are a few pictures showing current state of Design Centre contract

However for once Gateshead Council has got a "prestige building" facing the town , unlike the Sage Music Centre

The Northern Design Centre signs up its first tenant

THE Northern Design Centre, which opens for business next month, has signed up its first tenant and expects many more young firms ripe for growth who will carry on the region's heritage of innovation. Karen Dent reports.

THE £9.9m Northern Design Centre will see its first business move in next month and prepare for two-day Design Means Business conference which will bring design professionals in from around the UK to Gateshead to see the landmark new building.

It aims to become a regional hub for developing creative businesses which will see around 150 workers based in the four storey building in the Baltic Business Centre when its full complement of tenants move in.

The first to sign on the dotted line is AYO Media, a web design and developer which started life in Gateshead in 2008. It has signed a three-year deal to take 2,100sq ft of space in the centre.

Was out and about yesterday 17/01/12 on a cold frosty day turning milder by the minute, to both north and south sides of the River Tyne (generally east of the Millennium Bridge) and took the following photographs ( hosted on Photobucket)

Works still not complete but did notice that some of contractor's cabins to rear were being removed - so must be getting near

At long last work is being carried out to glaze the feature windows on the south elevation of this nearly completed building

Thought those plywood panels were never going to be replaced.

Also ongoing work to pavings etc - so "nearly finished" by the look of it

Nice shots ken.this area is coming along after a slow period.the design centre is a decent building for this location.the big challenge is to up the ante for gq2 site and have something worthy of the key location.the square conference centre in brussels is a renovation but internally i would hope something of that level of quality rather than the MEN or ICC.
Ps i would assume you are kenr off the heed forums?howay the heed!

Not that Ken - but do watch the Heed play - was one of the approx 350 there last Tuesday

So when it comes to the new ground ( on other thread, let us hope the gate increases to match the owner, Mr Wood's investment over the last few years)

Also nice to see someone else fighting the Gateshead cause
