mentioned this on the main thread, but I would be pissed if we had NOT met with every of the 24 exco delegates by now

each have a vote, and we should be trying to get each to choose us on December 2.

meeting with them however does not equal or condone corruption. this is an entirely different issue, and so far the article has only noted that the FFA "MET" with the delegate

this second time FIFA get such reports about Australia in this year and should now take action also AFC should kick Australia out of Asia and send them back to Oceania after their scandal with Tahiti member who is president of the Oceania Football.

in 28 october meeting they should cancel Australia bid since it is the only country don't have seat and try to buy votes by money and Jewelry.

Lol Feeling a bit threatened there little man? Face it, the Qatari football team is pathetic, the Doha bid is just utterly ridiculous & Australia is in the AFC to stay.

P.S. I will not be one bit surprised if it is found that the corruption is surrounded in the Doha WC bid.

Doha was already caught up in allegations of bid collussion with Spain, and there were whispers of other issues too. No bid will win this playing it clean, so trying to sit back and place allegations that it is only 1 or 2 countries makes me laugh.

The whole process is flawed, and the best bids will likely not win unfortunately.

As for the reporting, the Australian media rip anything apart, so if the Qatari media are not the same, by govt or any other instruction, its not a fair comparison.

Wasn't there some FIFA conference in Africa a while back that was sponsored by Doha so no other bidding nations could attend but them? Sounds shifty to me.

Bid chaos may favour Australia Dan Silkstone

If, as seems possible, Qatar and Spain-Portugal are suspended from bidding, Australia would benefit.

2022 World Cup bid dodges controversy

AUSTRALIA'S bid to host the 2022 World Cup finals appears to have been cleared of any involvement in the cash-for-votes scandal.

Football Federation Australia has confirmed it has not been informed of FIFA's decision to widen its investigation to include two bidding nations.

In what is a "no news is good news situation", the FFA told The Australian yesterday it had received no information or correspondence from the world governing body as the controversy continued to rock the sport yesterday. "As far as we know, Football Federation Australia is unaware of any investigation into Australia's World Cup bid for 2022," an FFA statement said yesterday.

5 other Nations are being looked at-including the USA
http://www.sportingintelligence.com/...-bribes-19100/

Sources tell sportingintelligence the “agreements” in question involved favours and / or assistance offered by bidding nations to Temarii (on two occasions) and Adamu (at least once). Three separate bid teams are believed to have been involved, each from a different continent, and the nature of the agreements will come under intense scrutiny to ascertain whether they were within bid rules, and specifically whether they were directly related to voting.

AND

explore what, if anything, Fifa can do about two other bidding teams for 2018 and / or 2022 who – completely separately from the alleged ‘favours’ deals – allegedly offered to buy Temarii’s vote and / or his influence to assist their bids, for $10m and $12m respectively.

You just have to wonder why the "other" nation hasn't been revealed as of yet. The English media are wanks no doubt about it but they are also the only media with any balls to find anything like this and if they have evidence of the 3rd nation, are they not releasing it to avoid damaging 3 possible votes from CONCACAF? Is this a different side of the English media we're seeing? I've got to say I'm impressed in one sense but it could also be bad news for Australia, if they are withholding information from FIFA for fear of a backlash.

I was about to say, it has to be Qatar, Spain, and the USA, in the context of football Australia is part of Asia. Plus, Australia would be the Oceanian president's initial choice.

As part of Australia's move from the OFC to the AFC in 2006, it was a condition (I believe imposed by FIFA) that Australia would offer support (financial, developmental, etc) to the OFC. This is one of the reasons, for example, a NZ team plays in the A-League. So Oceania is already getting FIFA approved financial support from Australia. No bribes required!
