I think you mean Cricket and AFL. The stadiums for the NRL are rectangular but are smaller.

Germany 2006 had 3 stadiums with ovals
Japan/Korea had 6 stadiums with ovals

Australia has-
1 oval
8 rectangular
3 semi-rectangular using temporary seating

Stadiums are good enough and will get better if we win.

I think around 8 out of the 12 stadiums are rectangular. http://www.australiabid.com.au/austr..._stadiums.aspx

The last one is the best, nobody does goooooooooooooooooooooooooool better than the Latin American commentators.

P.S. They showed a shot of the area I was in after Holman's goal. Drinks were going everywhere. I felt sorry for the older couple behind us.

Actually like the Arabic Cahill one-somehow he squeezed kangaroo, vuvuzela and socceroo into one very short but excited sentence

I was only 5 rows back on the corner post at our scoring end and it was mayhem at one point. The brother in law finally understood why we travelled half way around the world
Best C3 tickets ever

Incorrect

6 rectangular stadiums (not sure how you counted 8)
1 Olympic stadium
5 Cricket/AFL grounds (of which Perth's will apparently have movable seating to make it more 'rectangular')

I have to agree that the quality of stadiums lets down Australia's bid

I think you need to revisit your maths classes or to be more specific counting classes, one, two, three, the numbers stated before as far as I know are correct.

No mate,respectfully you are incorrect.
Can't be bothered with it but we discussed it at length further back in the thread-that is where you will find it all

No I am not incorrect

Rectangular Stadiums
Suncorp Stadium
Newcastle Stadium
Canberra Stadium
Dairy Farmers Stadium
Blacktown Stadium
Sydney Football Stadium

Olympic Stadiums
Sydney Olympic Stadium

AFL/Cricket grounds
MCG
Adelaide Oval - which is currently being widened which will make it even worse for football
Perth Stadium - apparently will have movable seating
Geelong Stadium
Gold Coast Stadium

2 of the AFL/Cricket grounds won't be used (most likely Geelong, Gold Coast or Adelaide) but it's still a pretty pathetic collection of stadiums compared to what the other bidding countries have.

I thought the MCG was also an Olympic stadium, so you've even failed your own logic, which is pretty pathetic

YES YOU ARE
I CAN'T BE ANY MORE EXPLICIT THAN THAT
You simply haven't bothered to do any further research have you

Do you think I POST FOR THE SAKE OF IT????

All 12 stadiums in the Australasian bid book are FIFA compliant

Australia's final 10 stadiums will be even more impressive than we are pushing here now with more new stadiums than the English and American bids, and this is only the very starting point-its not necessarily where we will end up in 12 years

8 Rectangular
1 Temporary Rectangular
1 Oval-a famous Olympic Cauldron and 1 of the 7 sporting wonders of the world

2 Stadiums with temporary rectangular mode will be dropped after we win hosting rights, should we be so lucky

I suppose the crucial point here is that the bid is totally realistic. It realizes the need to have stadiums that pay for themselves.Yes we are in a far economic better position than than our rivals ,reaching parity with the USD for the first time since the AUD was floated 28 years ago, with Australia's biggest mining and energy boom since the 19th century and incredible investment happening all the time such as the $15 billion LNG project announced yesterday, but our bid throughout has been fully realistic. Its not based on an architects wet dream,it is real.Stadiums that continually get attendances up to 100,000

While everyone else struggles with a massive economic crisis with huge unemployment,we don't and can certainly afford Qatars non existent stadiums but its this very prudent decision making that finds us in the position we are in now
