Thanks! I've got to say that it's bit of a relief to have most of Tallinn covered by now It's great fun to take photos, but it's also unbelievably time consuming.

1431 Close-up of the TTÜ library. Library was designed by Agabus,Endjärv & Truverk Arhitektid OÜ

1432 University's economics & social sciences building from different angle. This building was designed by Katrin Tomberg-Tohter & Päärn Volk.

1433 Entrance area.

1434 Area between library and economics & social sciences building offers interesting perspective.

1435 And the library again... Btw,library is covered with weatherproof black fabric with white patterns printed on it.

I like the TTÜ library. It's a little strange on the outside, but the interior looks really cool.

Thanks,Paperbird! Your own Tallinn photos are impressive too.

1436 As I mentioned before, university has been expanding rapidly and even now there is a new study building U/C in university campus.

1437 TTÜ dormitories. Not much to add here...students need places for sobering up after all that heavy partying

1439 is new and the rest are renovated, afaik.

@Galro - Thanks. Tbh,I personally consider it bit boring :P It's nice and all,but there's smth missing from it's exterior,what would create that wow!-effect.

Heheh, yeah. I was planning to upgrade to pro account in this month, but somehow forgot and as most of my construction updates end up on Tinypic,I didn't noticed that I had exceeded monthly bandwidth. Damn thing gets clogged up pretty quickly.

The monthly bandwidth limit can be doubled by making 2nd account.

Wow,over one month since my last update! It sucks to have so few free days - when I've got a day off,it's usually too crappy weather for photographing! I hope things improve soon...

Btw,go carrot,go!

Has has the name of the tower in pic. nr 173 (Landskrone tower) any relationship to the city of Landskrona in Sweden? Do you know when the tower was built?

Nope. Tower was built in late 1400's or early 1500's and name is ze German 'landskrone' (literally - land's crown). Reason for it - it was one of the highest defensive towers on Toompea. In following centuries Pikk Hermann tower was built higher and Landskrone was in turn slightly lowered...

1441 The last part of TTÜ - Küberneetika Instituut / Cybernetics Institute on Akadeemia road. Really nice looking building. I personally love 60's & 70's brick architecture.

1442 Few more pics of it...

1443

1444 Right next to TTÜ campus is Tehnopol - science & business city. It mainly nutures small start-up high tech & science companies, but also houses many laboratories etc. Ironically, many TTÜ students find their jobs in neighbouring Tehnopol...

1445 And like TTÜ,Tehnopol is constantly evolving. You can see U/C Tehnopol 1 building behind the lower blue house.

1446 Another new Tehnopol building is so-called Mehhatroonikum.

1447 In the quiet early summer days trolleybuses like to gather on nice meadows... Click on the photo for larger view.

1448 Considering how long it's been since my last update,Tehnopol 1 isn't that much U/C anymore... Here's how the almost finished, latest addition to Tehnopol looks like.

1451 Continuing along Mäepealse street. This area has been developing quite fast. It's located on a cliff and is actually more linked to Nõmme area than Mustamäe.

1452 Rather nice looking apartment building.

1453 And few more. It's interesting that apartment buildings on Mäepealse street look fairly decent...

1454 ...while those next to Kadaka avenue in the nearby are just awful. I mean what the heck are THOSE?!

1455 Meh...

What I like in Tallinn new developments is a lot of space between new apartment blocks. In Poland new sites are squeezed without space between, which makes life less comfortable, espacially when one can shake his neighbors hand through kitchen window.

Well, those in 1454 is looking quite silly, yes - but they ARE interesting and somewhat unique. I prefer them much better over those boring "mehs" in 1455.

It's so good that Talliners are smart enough to renovate the commieblocks. It's such a major improvement on whole city's visual apperance, aesthetics, the environment quality! I bet the rate of suicides will now decrease in Tallinn... The bright, renovated environment means so much, especially in dark seasons of year. I hope to wait in Riga someday this process too... I sometimes get so bored of the neglectedness here (both in commieblock and historical districts).
