Nice picture.
And damn, the area between the buildings and the sea really is terrible. And there's nothing planned there either. Has to be the ugliest seafront in the region. |

nothing planned?! what about the gigantic complex by salto, the 2 buildings by baumschlager & eberle, the navigator, not to mention the new town hall and the huge logi street development...
too many plans, not enough deeds. seems to me that the only go-ahead project at the moment is the urbanistic park of the museum of architecture

I hate to brake it to you,but land lot near Admiralty Basin is on sale again. In what, twenty years? ...only thing they've managed to do,was demolishing old (shipyard?) buildings there, which were presumably under heritage protection

...none
But buildings were from early 1900s,if I remember correctly. Given the fact that most similar shipyard buildings are under protection in Tallinn,so should have been those. But,hey,it's too late to cry about them. Now we can only hope that something new and awesome will be built there one day

I'm not sure. Possibly to protect bell tower's interior from weather..
they do look like storm shutters and we haven't had any decent weather in last two months,so it would make sense.

369 Swedbank Estonian headquarters (former Hansapank HQ) on Liivalaia street.
![]() 370 Tallinn's rather typical chaotic street scene - 1920s achitecture mixed with modern midrises... ![]() 371 Harju county court building. ![]() 372 "Vivat Justitia" - long live justice ![]() ![]() 373 First taste of commie blocks and rather oriental looking house on Juhkentali street. ![]() 374 Another look of that house..btw,it's Commerce Bureau of the People's Republic of China. ![]() 375 Central bus station...looks boring and more fitting to some county center, rather than capital. ![]() 376 Residential building near the bus station. ![]() 377 It's side view.
