Gotha is our next stop. Gotha was one capital of a small duchy called Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Two branches of the house of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha currently reign in Belgium and the UK. In the 19th century the German socialist party (SPD) was founded in Gotha, and the town is probably also known because of the Almanach de Gotha, a directory of Europe's highest nobility and royalty. Today Gotha is a small town (45.000 inhabitats) with huge administrative buildings from the 18-20th century.

Down to the market place:




Commie blocks form a quarter of the old town. Gotha was heavily bombed during WW2 because of the Gothaer Waggonfabrik, a company which built military gliders and aircrafts like the Bf 110:
