Demolition work on Dock B

The demolition work on Dock B is starting in July 2009. There should not be any operational restrictions as the building site will be fully accessible on the landside via a bridge. The building work is scheduled for completion at the end of 2011.

The alteration and reopening of Dock B is the key part of the project, since it ensures that Zurich Airport can continue to provide top-quality services after the implementation of the Schengen Agreement. The planned conversion will allow flexible processing of Schengen and non-Schengen flights at up to nine aircraft stands.

The separate waiting areas will be on level G0 for non-Schengen passengers and on G1 for Schengen passengers. There will also be a spectators’ terrace.

At check-in 1, there was more than 40 web-check in screens, and 4 drop off desks.....that didn't make check in easier or faster just cheaper for the airline!! And they had a different code system from ATH, and i had to insert my visa to confirm details, but since i had 2 tickets booked with my credit card i couldn't web-check in for the additional passenger (Greece has old fashion ID's with no barcode). That wasn't a problem of the system but a problem with our ID cards in Greece
