Well the PATH and NYC Subway are 2 separate systems....the PATH being more cleaner and less delayed then the Subway. But the PATH is a tiny system compared to the Subway with only 13.8 track miles and 13 stations.

A postcard view of a crossover in the H&M tubes. Full crossovers were located just west of Grove Street and just north of the former 19th St. station (since removed). The postcard likely depicts the one near 19th Street.

PATH Receives $250 Million to Fix Stations and Prevent Future Damage

By Michael Aron
Chief Political Correspondent

Behind Red Bull Arena in Harrison sits the maintenance yard of the PATH system.

The night of Superstorm Sandy, the South Yard flooded, the maintenance shop flooded, 54 PATH cars were damaged along with electrical substations and signal systems farther up the line. A temporary sea wall is in place now.

$32 million for a permanent sea wall is part of today’s $255 million grant to the Port Authority from the Federal Transit Administration in Washington. Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye and Senator Bob Menendez made the announcement.

In the Authorities' current forms absolutely not too much disfunction as it is. If they were to merge the state of Connecticut should be included for the sake of better regionally cohesive planning, also it could act as a stabilizing agent for the two agencies. Also this new Authority should be as politically insulated as possible to remove political meddling and nepotism we are seeing now.
