When does the New and permanent WTC station open? I always had the idea of extending it thru to Brooklyn and all the way to JFK! Maybe only stopping at Atlantic Ave and Broadway Junction to make an 'express' subway between 2 airports, WTC and JC! Pretty cool huh!

Was the WTC station actually in the basement of one of the buildings, or in the plaza or what? seems like if it were too clos it would have been a serious security threat

It was directly below the towers, and part of the underground complex with all the shops etc, got pretty wrecked in 9/11 although not completely destroyed.

What is that metal piece around the train lights? Is it to clip trains together?

Its to stop people falling between the cars when coupled together, they are called anti climbers I think

The older NYC subway cars have them aswell...

Does PATH have their own train operators? Or do NYC subway operators also work on PATH? It would seem quite boring to work on PATH all day every day since it's such a short route.

Its separate form MTA, just like PATCO in South Jersey is separate form Septa. The scenery on the open section always changes + theres 4 lines.

Its quite a long ride out to Harrison and Newark Penn Station are can see all the 'urban landscape' which I tend to find pretty interesting...

Anti climbers are the bumper at floor level, they prevent the cars from climbing on each other. Ie one car riding up and over the other. As for those other things I take your word they are to stop people falling bewteen cars, but they ain't called anti climbers.

The Next few Extensions would be in NJ. Planned Extension 1 would be to EWR , Proposed Extension 2 would continue the line to Midtown Elizabeth via Jersey Gardens / Elizabethport and Proposed Extension 3 would branch off form Journal SQ and head south along the US 1/9 Truck and NJ 440 corridors.
The PATH has always more of an Urban Jersey System.

Is there a map of these extensions? Of the whole PATH, I mean, with extensions on it.
