The merger of the Shanghai and Suzhou metros would require a westwards extension of Shanghai Metro Line 11 to Huaqiao in Su Zhou

As for merging the metros of Wuxi, Su Zhou, Hangzhou and Ningbo with each other I don't know if there are any long term plans to that end.

As for the $3.50 fare it's hard to say what the metro fare would be on such a link five years or so from now.

What is the distance now from Suzhou subway to Shanghai subway? To Wuxi subway?

Does Kunshan city (population 1,65 million) need its own subway apart from a connecting line Shanghai-Suzhou?

Do the other cities of Suzhou, namely Taicang, Changshu and Zhangjiagang, need subways?

Here's a Suzhou-Kunshan-Shanghai subway future map by Shanghai local forumers.

I have to say it's good planning and viable even before 2030

So is Suzhou closer to Shanghai or to Wuxi?

Suzhou is closer to Wuxi but due to the existence of Kunshan and higher suburban urbanization level near towards Shanghai, Suzhou and Shanghai are more likely to be connected by metro.

Is the area between Wuxi and Su Zhou urbanized at all? Or are both cities completely seperate entities?

It depends on what to call an urban area. I may say area between shanghai and Hangzhou can be called all urban in European terms. I mean there's no almost interruption when you travel by a CRH train you can see al the time houses cottages, commies and so on.

In other words these areas between those cities are populated enough to make a metro line there economically feasible in the near future? Are there any long tyerm plans to connect Wuxi, Su Zhou and Hangzhou;s metro systems?

Thanks in advance!
1) Since childhood, I'm very much interested in electric rail transport - like tram, metro & suburban train etc. My city Kolkata has all three, and my grandfather traveled me the entire city my these three moods. After getting elder, I've started to collect information from all cities' tram & metro etc. around the world. I've already competed the entire AFRICA, OCEANIA, SOUTH AMERICA, ASIA & MEXICO, rests are going. I'm collection all these information, maps, photos etc. in my hard disc, to time pass. This is one of my hobby.

2) I mostly replied thanks to those people who inform me, however always it is not possible, because I access internet from a cyber cafe, where time is limited. Anyway, I will try to improve better if I was wrong and uncultured. I' DON'T HAVE A SINGLE QUALIFICATION TO BE A BOSS OF SOMEONE, MAY BE IN SOCIAL LIFE, OR MAY BE IN THIS INTERNET WORLD.

I hope you've got your answers. Then can I get the answers of those questions written above? RSVP.

Suzhou has no border with Hangzhou, unlike with Wuxi, Shanghai or even Nantong.
