I see... Question, though: I notice that in Ukrainian aircraft registrations, there's a big difference:

• for propeller aircraft, it's with five numbers (e.g. Motor Sich Airline)
• for jet aircraft, it's with three letters (e.g. Air Onix)

Tell me more about how aircraft registrations are classified in the Ukraine because it seems like there's quite an inconsistency...

In Ukraine there are three groups of aircraft registration:
  • UR-AAA to UR-ZZZ
  • UR-10000 to UR-99999
  • UR-AAAA to UR-ZZZZ (private aircraft)

As you can see, there is no classification regarding the type of aircraft, i.e. turboprop, jet and etc. Only private aircrafts have their own cluster of aircraft registration.

I believe Motor Sich Airline chose this type of airline registration as they wanted to stand out

Here is UTair Ukraine's ATR (UR-UTH)

You are welcome! What a nice itenary you have

It's a pity to hear that BTS- KSC is being canceled, but it just happens. Anyway, trip on a board of AN-140 and YAK-40 will compensate this problem.

By the way, you don't forget that you have to go to railway station's ticket table and exchange your e-ticket to a standard ticket.

What is you layover time at IEV? I advice you to see both the aviation museum and explore Kyiv. There are a lot of things to see.
Moreover, IEV is located pretty close to downtown.
I´ll arrive at IEV 09.00 hrs and depart IEV 20.10 hrs.
So, considering I need to be at the airport for check-in to KWG around 19.00hrs I´ll have ~ 10hrs to spend ...

I think the BTS-KSC cancellation is obviously not just a random bad luck.
When I booked the flight I found out that Danubewings has put on sale two of their four strong fleet of ATR´s and withdrawn from service another one. Now only a single ATR-72 remains active - go figure ...
But I´m not worried since I like train travel also and I will still be able to arrive in Uzhgorod in time to catch my flight.
Just one thing I´m slightly worried for is that I´ll arrive in Chop early in the morning and there´s only one train to Uzhgorod that fits my schedule requirements. For this train I can make a reservation only about 1-2 days before departure (train comes from Moscow). How can I exchange my booking confirmation towards the real ticket so early in the morning ?
Is the ticket counter in Chop open all night ???
For my Krivoy Rog - Simferopol ticket that´s no problem as I´ll have plenty of time to exchange my confirmation in Kiev before flying to KWG.

That's plenty of time! You definitely have to go and see Kyiv!

It should be, but I am not 100% sure. I will ask someone in Ukrainian section.

Thanks for your help !

If I can´t get a ticket for the Chop - Uzhgorod train I still have a "plan B" in form of a taxi ride.
I´d expect it should not be too expensive (from a western point of view) for ~ 25-30 Kms but of course it´s much more than a train ticket ...
Any guess how much a taxi for such a distance would be ?

Well, I found info that as December 2012 it cost 100-150 UAH - http://forum.awd.ru/viewtopic.php?p=...b5e32#p3348848

But you are foreigner, so taxi drivers will definitely try to bargain you for higher price.

Also, there is a lot of experienced English speaking travellers at http://forum.railwayclub.info site, you should get your answers quicker there.

круглосуточная, но с графиком обычных для УЗ 15-минутных перерывов. Проблем быть не должно.
=it works 24 hours, but with 15 minutes brakes for personnel switch.
I also recommends to monitor booking.gov.uz.ua and buy ticket in advance.

KBP's terminal interior looks fresh, sleek, and modern... I wonder if the D gates are for international flights, though, or do domestic flights use them as well?

Thank you! The terminal D is used only for international flights. While the terminal B is dedicated for domestic flights.

Neither of it PS didn't wanted to waste time on repainting (instead applied stickers) and putted it into the service as soon as it received this metal. I believe it will be painted during next C-check.
