KBP sees traffic growth by 3% for first 8 months of 2015 (4 823 000 pax.) comparing to the same period for 2014.
For January - August 2015 there were 46 331 flights: 41 650 international and 4681 domestic. Average load factor was around 79%.

In August 2015 KBP served 825 700 pax which is 6% higher than in August 2014.
During this months there were 6 722 flights: 6067 international and 655 domestic. Average load factor was around 90%.

August is always busy months due to leisure travelers and students: foreigners coming to study in Ukraine and Ukrainians going abroad. Moreover, leisure flights always are 100% loaded.

They are doing a great business as Ukraine International lost profitable connections due to the ban of flights imposed by the Ukrainian government. I don't hope that people have to be fired.

Not really. Ukraine International Airlines are opening new flights to Europe, placed few orders for B737-800 and planning to expand Asian long-hauls. Basically, not that big hit.

UDJ-IEV is operated with AN-140. Chances to be in a different metal are pretty low. Even in case of aircraft change, you'll get (most likely) AN-24. As I believe that you are really into aviation, I don't think that it will be a major disappointment.
With respect to IEV-KWG, it's YAK-40 all the time. The risk of aircraft change is low as well.



They do occasionally operate this route with AN-74, but I don't think that there is a big chance to catch it.



If you want to try AN-148, you can try KBP-LWO. In summer time KBP-SIP is very busy leg. Probally you will catch PS' B737-900ER on this route.



It's pretty normal company operating classic B737. Not that much to worry about. SIP-IEV is most cases will have 100% yield, while on IEV-BTS I believe will be enough of free space. Here is the trip report of IEV-BTS (in Russian though)

First of all thanks for the BALTIKA L-410 photo ...

I think I still owe you some feedback on how things went during my trip.
In the end I flew UZH-IEV on AN-24 which was no real disappointment to me - as you rightly predicted. It is not noisier than western aircraft of the same era. My last AN-24 flight before was around 1991 so I couldnīt remember exactly ...
... and the AN-140 is like likely to be around for some time longer.
Next "surprise" was my flight IEV-OZH which was not only operated by YAK-40 but made a slight detour via KWG giving me two flights for the price of one ...
They simply combined both flights. I couldnīt care less what the reason was as long I get more YK4 for my money ....
From Zaporozhye I went by (night-)train to Simferopol which I guess is not as easy anymore now (even less for EU-citizens because of visa requirements). I still consider Krim being part of Ukraine btw.

Then I flew SIP-IEV-BTS with Air Onix B737-500 UR-KRC.
Not long after my OD-flights (06 sep 2013) Air Onix ceased ops "silently" ???
At the time I flew them it was quite chaotic - probably a sign of their demise already.
When I arrived at IEV the aircraft was parked at the new terminal but we were bussed to the old domestic terminal and we had to wait for quite some time until our luggage arrived. I booked the whole itinerary SIP-IEV-BTS on one ticket but noboby told me I have to pick-up my luggage and then be on my own to find my way to the new terminal where my onward flight would depart (same aircraft UR-KRC btw.).
At first I was expecting my luggage to be transferred automaticly as it was labelled through to BTS.
I should have been alerted by the fact that check-in agent at SIP was not able to issue my onward boarding pass ...
I also experienced rather rude staff at the new terminal in IEV.
