^Now tell me about the flights to Asia from Kiev. How many weekly rotations on most of their Asian destinations? Is it bad as Canada as one weekly or?

IEV | Kiev/Kyiv International Airport

International Airport Kyiv ("Zhulyany")

The first regular passenger flight landed at the airport Kyiv "Zhulyany" May 25, 1924. This date became the birthday of our company. Airport "Zhulyany" has a glorious history of the octogenarian. Based on considerable experience gained, our airport is moving steadily towards the successful implementation of future projects.

Currently the airport is undergoing a stage of development. Our efforts are aimed at creating international airport, which will take its rightful place among the best airports of Ukraine and the world.We feel the support and understanding from the authorities of the city and believe that with proper organization of the case together we can successfully implement complex and important future projects.

To ensure stable operation of our partners and to improve the level of service to airline carriers flying to the airport Kyiv "Zhulyany", the company switched to clock mode. The plans laid for the reconstruction of existing infrastructure, namely: extension of the runway, its certification for compliance with the second category according to ICAO standards, building a new terminal, expansion of platforms, create a separate service areas for regular and charter flights, business aviation, flight general aviation, construction of hangars to accommodate the aircraft and their maintenance.

Our Airport is working with various carriers who perform both regular and charter flights and business flights on private jets.Each passenger, regardless of the type of flight, can get a decent level of service to which he used when traveling through airports in Europe and the world. We declare an equal partnership with all our clients, we create conditions for transparent relations for the air transportation market.
Airport Kyiv "Zhulyany" always hospitably open for their current and future customers and partners.

Airport "Kyiv" is developing rapidly

The New international terminal is already built. At the moment the setting-up of informational and technological systems is being conducted. Check-in, passport check desks are being mounted, aircraft safety systems are being installed, equipment for stores, restaurants and cafeterias is being installed.

The New terminal has a modern informational system by SITA that includes registration system, visualization system and airport processes control system.
Baggage processing systems for arriving and departing passengers have already been installed and commissioned. All works have been carried out in a highly qualified manner within the established deadlines by “Motion” company’s specialists.
Aircraft safety systems include 8 new modern introscopes by Rapiscan with different dimension-types.
Infrastructure of the terminal complex provides all necessary arrangements for comfortable and safe location of passengers, accompanying visitors as well as airport staff.

Airport land side has independent traffic routes: routes for civil transport, taxi and private cars. Total number of parking places at land side is 250. There are parking places for large busses and for servicing of target groups of passengers. The routes for passengers are planned in a clear and transparent manner.

Terminal square is 14000 square meters.
Terminal has 14 check-in desks, 3 aircraft safety checkpoints for departing passengers.
Customs service will work under “green” and “red” corridors system. Passport control procedures stipulate maximal simplification of formalities by means of modern informational systems (totally, there will be 20 workplaces for Border service specialists: 10 for arrival and 10 for departure).

For comfortable expectation of flight departure or arrival in the terminal, different areas have cafeterias and restaurants, different stores, parenting rooms (on the ground and first floor), smoking premises (two premises on the first floor for departing passengers and two on the ground floor in arrival lounge, one of which is located before passport check and the other one – after passport check in baggage arrival zone).
At the time, chairs for passengers are being mounted (total amount is 700 chairs, 600 of which are in waiting-room on the first floor). On the first floor, we have located a business hall with 180 square meters space. From the windows of this hall there opens a beautiful view at the flying field and runway. 8 bars and restaurants and 5 Duty Free stores will work in the terminal 24 hour per day.
5 departure gates will be used for handling of passengers. The mentioned infrastructure will provide qualitative and comfortable rendering of services for 520 passengers per hour.
Terminal building has a great number of windows and open space. This makes your feel yourself comfortable and calm.

We took care and ensured maximum convenience and comfort for disabled people, i.e. we have created infrastructure that allows to move freely in the terminal and to pass all the necessary procedures for arrival and departure of such passengers.
Openness, light, cosiness and comfort are the main impressions, which you will feel while being in the new international terminal of Airport Kyiv.

New air terminal opened at Zhulyany Airport in Kyiv

The ceremonious opening of a new terminal took place on 17 May at the Kyiv (Zhulyany) Airport in the capital. These very air gateways will receive senior UEFA officials during Euro-2012. "This airport is the most successful example of a private and public partnership. I assure you that the Ministry of Infrastructure is ready to build a runway in any big city if the investor guarantees the construction of such a great terminal," Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov said at the opening of the terminal.

The Vice Prime Minister said that from today Kyiv Airport has become the most convenient one for those who prefer to travel «from point to point». "I hope that the construction of these air gates will soon trigger construction of underground stations anywhere nearby", Mr. Kolesnikov said.

The terminal is equipped with modern equipment for checking in passengers and handling baggage and for passenger safety. There are separate halls for passengers traveling in business class and a separate VIP-room area of 1500 sq. m. Of the total of 14,000 square metres 2,000 sq. m. of the terminal are occupied by the following: 4 restaurants, 5 bars, 3 Duty Free shops, 2 mother and child rooms, air tickets sales points, car rental points, a pharmacy and the branch of a bank.

The passenger throughput capacity of the terminal is 320 passengers per hour for departure. However, during construction, thanks to new methods of checking in of passengers (on-line check-in, self check-in) and optimization of internal terminal space the capacity could be increased to 500 passengers per hour for departure.

From time to time . I was yesterday, on the May 27 (it's already May 28 in Ukraine). Although, I neither take or post pictures as my camera is not quite "right". All in all, just enjoying planes. Especially Aerosvit's heavies in new livery.

Exterior somehow reminds me of WAW. So the terminal D is going to be Aerosvit's after the Euro2012? I've read such awful stuff that they want to separate domestic and international flights. According to that international flights to be transferred here, and domestic to be left at the current terminal. I wonder how they imagine the transfer between two terminals, as I saw from the photos there's quite a distance especially with luggage.

The current situation with terminal at KBP is following:
Terminal B - both international (Mainly Aerosvit Group [Aerosvit, Dniproavia, Donbasaero and WindRose], Aeroflot, Baltic Airlines, Georgian Airlines, Hamburg Airways,Turkish Airlines and Transaero) and domestic;
Terminal D - international only;
Terminal F - international only (Mainly Ukraine International Airlines and other airlines).

During the EURO 2012:
Terminal B - the same;
Terminal D - will operate charters for Euro 2012;
Terminal F - the same.

After the EURO 2012:
Terminal B - will be closed, after extra space (zone for domestic flights) will be added to Terminal D;
Terminal D - unknown if any flights will be operated; extra space will be added to in order to operate both international and domestic flights;
Terminal F - will be used only by low-cost carries.

Thus, Terminal D won't become only Aerosvit's dedicated terminal.

Hope the same. Flydubai is already doing job for them. The other possible thing is that either Aerosvit or Ukraine International Airlines will get 777 for their charter flights. Turkey, Egypt, Dominican Republic, Sri Lanka and some other routes generate enough number of pax.
