The Hague (the Netherlands)

The Hague is the third city (city : 485.000/ city and suburbs : 1.008.000 inhabitants) and the goverment center of the Netherlands. It's also the most densest city. Here i show you my pictures of this various city.

1.

The old city center.

2.

3.

The building in the middle is the Strijkijzer, with a height of 135 metres one of the highest buildings of the city.

4.

Mostly offices on the Utrechtsebaan.

5.

6.

7.

8.

The Binnenhof, this is the goverment center of the Netherlands.

9.

10.

11.

12.

The Haagse Bos, just 15 minutes walk from the Central Station a huge park enters the city.

13.

14.

In big cities bikes are often faster than cars (because of the traffic jams). As you can see some people are very creative with their bike.

15.

16.

17.

18.

The City-hall from the outside...

19.

and from the inside.

20.

21.

The Passage, an old shopping mall.

22.

The Passage from the inside.

23.

24.

25.

26.

27.

The Strijkijzer.

28.

The Ridderzaal, also a part of the Dutch goverment.

29.

31.

32.

In many cities in the Nethterlands (like Amsterdam, Utrecht) you have canals. The Hague has a few of them.

33.

34.

35.

36.

37.

The Schilderswijk, a very multicultural neighbourhood (approx. 90% of the 33.000 people who live here are immigrants).

38.

39.

40.

this city surprises me. I never thought that it has few tall buildings. I like the old quarters though.

Great looking city. I like the contrast between the traditional quarters and the very tasteful looking modern parts.

Very quaint city centre. I like the building on photo 34 particularly, was it a merchant house ?

Wonderful pictures, some great quality too. I thought the Hague was small or just a tranquil town, it's much more dense, urban and active than I had imagined. I respect the way how European cities in general don't sprawl into the horizon encompassing a broad land area, but are quite urbanized and dense, even in the outer city limits, much greenery.

Great pictures, thanks for that.

I've never been in The Hague, would like to go there some time. Looks like a very nice city with nice architecture. I know some people from my town who study in The Hague because it's such a nice city with a nice atmosphere.

Great pictures. The Hague is very underrated IMO. I've visited the city several times included Scheveningen beach. I like the mixture of old and new buildings.
The "strijkijzer" is very nice aswell!

No. It was an inn since 1423, and it still is used as a restaurant. The latest (current) facade is from 1886
