Yes, I think Ford's plan for Coventry would have seen the city turn out very different to the one we have today, as he wanted to keep it roughly along the same lines as it was and we might not have seen so much destroyed. He also planned Corporation Street, which was very well done as well - nicely linked up with the existing city grid to create a new route that bypassed the medieval streets.
Not all the post-war city was bad... Some of the period buildings are decent. Kenilworth Road is very nice. It's not far from where I live (In Earlsdon). Difficult times, I suppose, with a lot of interesting new ideas flying around & rebuilding required. Must have been exciting for people involved! Do you know what he thought about the new city?
