VIJAYAWADA: The State Government on Saturday gave administrative sanction for taking up works valued at Rs 530 crore for raising the temporary Secretariat Blocks by two more floors and also for the internal and external infrastructure. With this, the total amount to be spent on the temporary Secretariat coming up at Velagapudi in the capital region has gone up to Rs 750.80 Crore.
According to the officials of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), out of the Rs 530 Crore, Rs 68.34 Crore have been allocated for raising the second and third floors on all the six blocks.
While, Rs 355.74 Crore has been earmarked for internal infrastructure, the remaining Rs 105.92 Crore will be utilised for external infrastructure of all the four floors of the six blocks.
The Government initially sanctioned Rs 220.80 Crore for construction of the six blocks of the temporary Secretariat each with a G +1 design. But, later gave its nod for raising two more floors (G +3) and sanctioned Rs 68.34 Crore for it.
The CRDA officials said the Government has sanctioned Rs 355.74 Crore for taking up interior works, providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing services, providing furniture, cabins, partitions and other internal infrastructure in the four floors of all the six blocks.
Similarly, the Government sanctioned Rs 105.92 Crore for external infrastructure works like land-leveling, laying of roads, provision of water and electricity, setting up a sewerage treatment plant, raising security wall and providing parking facilities.
With this, the total amount being spent on the Government Interim Complex coming up in an area of 45 acres (27 acres for construction of buildings and the remaining 18 acres for external parking facility) has gone up to Rs 750.80 Crore.
