thank's for this pictures. where was this photo taken. Djibouti or Ethiopia. I think a diesel locomotive model DF4 changed to African countries. I think not a new model but a model used for work trains

Funky! It reminds me of old school VW minivan. The sight of a low bed carrying two locomotives adds to the funk factor. Why don't they just transport it on the rail? It's not like it needs to be used far away from the rail lines...

Here's Kumbi Vols in action, got the pic from the BBC website. I think the locomotives are being used for construction purposes only, the picture by Bahir Dar might be an old one, showing the locomotives coming in before the line was built.

The author did not mention where those photos were taken. But she is employed by CREC and based in Addis, so Sebeta will be a reasonable guess.

Why are they laying new tracks in the city? I thought the train didn't pass through the center of the city?
