Remove "the highway"?! That is the FDR Drive you are talking about. You can't/may not contemplate with pulling down/changing the FDR. Yes, a nice upkeep (and tons of live ivy plants, planted on the top and let them dangle from the sides) can make it look more "HighLine-y) and less stark. But we can't tamper with the FDR. What would the Londoners say: after all, it is built on the rubbles of London Blitz that the American troop ships brought back as ballast and dumped on the side of the East River, before going back full of troops. That is where the FDR is built on: the rubbles of the old British Empire.....

...I can't get it!...such a poor design does not deliver on the prime location!
Is that area damned?..a lot of garbage there;even the new Pier 17 does not meet my expectations(SO COLD!!!)
It is a fact one can find the ugliest buildings of Manhattan concentrated around the Brooklyn Bridge

The lowrise on the right looks like a big fat Downtown office tower that they just forgot to build the rest of.

Do you know what kind of fog is this covering the city ? was it raining, was it a cloud ? was it cold ?

light rain and fog. The temperature rose yesterday after a stint of cooler weather and lots of moisture.
