With the basic structure complete, the walls are starting to go in -

Very pleasing scale. Much more appropriate for a major thoroughfare it fronts than the rear-facing industrial sheds it replaced -

Solid progress on the wall panels -

Part of me would like these windows to retain the odd shape, although they'll clearly end up like those on the right -

Looking quite impressive from over the road -

I'd like to think plans are afoot to demolish this building and replace it with something new but I've no idea if that's in the pipeline or not.

At least Aspinall Flooring and Hartley's Auction Rooms right on the corner of Erskine Street and Moss Street (which were even more unattractive to look at) have long since gone:

Unite Skelhorne Street - https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=331463

Between the fact they are on reasonably elevated ground (the city drops off more towards the river), and their height, you can see them peeking into view from all over the city centre.

Not sure this is what they meant by the need to make buildings green -

Great scale coming down Islington -

I'll be honest though. Given they have, at a push, about 9 weeks until this needs to be ready, I'm not seeing it being done in time -

It's always active when I go past, but progress has felt slow for a while now. The building isn't even weather-tight which means work inside has to be fairly modest in terms of progress. Hopefully I'm wrong, but completion for September feels unlikely right now -

As it has been each time I've been past recently, the site is very much active -

As expected based on the current state of the building, this is going to miss its intended September 2018 opening date, and will now open in January -

Confirming the 2019 opening date. Residents will get free coffee though - http://www.urbanstudentlife.com/acco...slington-plaza

Despite them now having an extra four months to get this done, it's nice to see there's actually been an increase in the rate of progress the past couple of weeks -

I mean it's a step up from Falkland House next door, which is arguably one of the ugliest buildings ever built in the city. A step up from hideous disgrace to just hideous perhaps?
