They were supposed to be razed in the coming years anyway in phases. Pretty sure there were plans for massive gentrification of the entire area, and extend the riverfront until this stadium

Slums will get removed by 2022 and the land will be utilised as high-rise residential zone...don't expect them to be removed anytime soon.....so the stadium will have fantastic skyline on one side and amazing riverfront on the other side by the end of 2023

The stadium now looks ugly because of the ridiculous colour combination of the seats .
