Stoford are the major developer working with the landowners and the HCA on the Eastern Gateway.

It's also worth googling Redditch Eastern Gateway - redditchbc.gov.uk for an Economic Impact Study from June 2013. I can't post a link but it gives a wealth of information.

Random fact: a Gershwin musical (possibly Oh Kay! or Girl Crazy) is, or was originally, set in Droitwich.

Has a few olde buildings in the centre and cute high street, few nice parks and lido. Decent quiet town, extended a lot in the 70s-90s in a sort of mini new town style.

That's right- a lot of Brummie overspill moved there then, like my family did!

^ Westlands and Chawson estates were the Brummie overspill right?? Similar to a few 70s estates in Tamworth and obviously a good half of Redditch new town; Woodrow, Matchborough, Winyates, Church Hill. The city tried to keep a lot of the population within it's boundaries but could only keep so many.

Correct Route 435, Chawson & Westlands (Boycott) were large council estates.

Though the Brummie diaspora was across north Worcestershire - I grew up in a village called Fernhill Heath, half-way between Worcester & Droitwich.

Groundwork has begun on Kettler’s £2m distribution warehouse which will enable the Redditch-based outdoor brand to boost its stockholding and efficiency.

Located adjacent to its current warehouse, the new extra-high site will treble the current on-site capacity and is due to be completed in October.

Kettler managing director, Paul Bevington, said: “We pride ourselves on our constant product development, which in turn has created a continuously growing business.

“In order to ensure we can continue to meet our customers’ demand and to prepare for more innovation in an ever changing marketplace, it was essential for us to invest in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility.

“Once complete, it will allow us to store all our stock on our own single site, instead of at multiple external warehouses. This will, improve incoming logistics and delivery speed.”
