Main block refused/deferred because of "over development", and a "lack of light for Sherborne Lofts"

Planning Officer reiterated that the impact of light wasn't significant enough to justify refusal and the seperation distances were acceptable and it was in keeping of the listing build and smaller than Sherborne Lofts

The snivelling Gareth Moore wasted no time in replying, starting with an eye roll and a laugh before saying he disagreed and couldn't support it, unless the proposed building was reduced.

The listed building plan was approved though
(part demolition of a 20th century building extension to the rear, with the erection of a two storey flat roof extension to facilitate refurbishment to provide five office units. This will be clad in contemporary material, primarily glass and anodised metallic cladding and will give the extension a separate character to the listed building)

I'm appalled that this one man can stop a very neat, well planned, sensible scheme like this. The scale imo is spot on.
It would serve them right if the developers now walk away, can't see it being financially viable with less apartments.
This as been on the table now for about 3 or 4 years or more.....and NOW, finally, right at the point of approval the height is not right....ridiculous!

Tbf it takes a majority out of 9 or 10 to refuse something. Most of them must have felt the same way.
