I can do nothing sorry for you.

This tower makes me happy because we know it's harder in paris to have towers because of the conservative attitude in paris from people who don't love new architecture. in london they can do everything they want:

shard, pinnacle, cheesy , talkie walkie, gherkin, pancakes chocolates and others...

Phare is a victory because it has the politics consensus and investors!

That's the way LD must be led!

What the hell are you doing on this particular thread every single day (apart from bashing) if you hate the french/France that much...?

I just feel like telling you : "get a life and stop polluting this section you childish & pathetic twit!"

I'm gonna end up thinking that you actually are deeply jealous of us...I might not be far from the truth.

Here's about Paris, not London. Stop wasting your time on here, you'be better peruse the threads dedicated to LDN, you'll have plenty of space there to worship your beloved capital.

Back to Paris now!

PS: as much as I like London very much, Brits like you make me feel like hating it.

A render rarely seen so far

There can be no question that the Phare Tower design is iconic, and will be instantly recognisable. This is likely to be a love/hate type of architecture, so just as some will feel it is grotesque, others will see it as an amazing expression of structural design and architecture. I'm sure too that it will have some unique features such as the mid height viewing deck and perhaps some form of roof garden. Anyhow, good luck Paris, hope it gets built, and perhaps the Phare will become one of the modern architectural glories of Paris.

Lol....the ONLY reason Paris has had such tall towers proposed and accepted is because the Paris authorities got nervous/jealous at all the new towers going up in London.....and were terrified of being left even further behind London.

Without the Shard being built, none of your proposed towers would have even been considered for approval.

Amazing what competition can do.

PS...

Im still VERY skeptical any of these will get built anyway.......i'll believe it when i see it.

ok the trolling on this thread by British forumers is making me feel ashamed to be British. I like phare and think it will be a positive addition to the ld skyline, bringing it into the 21st century! The base looks kinda crazy, in a good way though

thank you guy!

i think it's good that Paris emulates London because they are the two most important cities in europe and europe can be proud of those sisters

Yes of course paris couldn't accept that london surpass it! paris has paved the way for innovations (eiffel tower and so on).

it has its own word to say when it comes to modernity.

The result of this is the battle of height won by paris because it 'll have hermitage tower to surpass shard in future years.

But anyway it's good for our two cities this competition.

In the future, Paris will have only one big cluster like Los Angeles
London will have at least 3 or 4 different design clusters like New York.
London already has the Canary Wharf, The City, will create another cluster around the Shard and another cluster in Croydon.

There are now some projects in Paris intra muros, which hadn't been the case since 1972 & the controversial Montparnasse Tower (whose facelift is due in the forthcoming months though!).

Things are now changing in the heart of Paris, indeed the 180m Tour Triangle's work is to start in 2012, the TGI (Tribunal de Grande Instance) will be located in a 160m tower whose construction will start as well in 2012(its design is to be unveiled early 2011).

We recently had the confirmation of at least 4 office towers in the Massena quarter whose height will go up to 180m. The new law allowing to build (at last...) higher than the former 37m is a considerable milestone...I guess many more will follow in the key places, obviously Paris doesn't want to look like New York at all. I guess that the 'Grand Paris' project is gonna make things easier too.

So, sorry to disappoint you dude, but in the future Paris will get more than one cluster as well.

Looks like somebody got their foreskin stuck in a zip and decided to wrench it out. I like it.
