It is strongly weird.

A long time ago they were two motorways: Salou-La Junquera and Valencia-Salou, despite they were AP-7 with same milestones.

Between Barcelona and Salou you had to stop three times. Last one was in Tarragona. One price if you drove through and another price (more or less half) if you took off there.
May you went direction south, price would be the same to Salou or to Reus.

Between Salou and Valencia, ticket booths were in L'Hospitalet (if you took that exit you had to ask for a ticket, drive some metres and pay direction north). Providing you went southbound, at Salou, nothing special but at Cambrils... going southbound, you paid same price than from Salou (ticket was in L'Hospitalet and they didn't know first entry).
May you use Cambrils-Salou (quite interesting before A-7), price was around 0,45 euro (in pesetas a long time ago).

And... free motorway is until Salou, therefore, they must assure Valencia-Salou is toll-free

Where is that written?

Because the concession limit is located here (you can see the welcome sign):

https://www.google.es/maps/@41.10208...7i16384!8i8192

That's 1.5 km south of Salou exit.

That means that they can charge you for that distance, unless it's written somewhere that Valencia - Salou traffic won't pay for it.

Of course common sense says they shouldn't charge drivers for that small distance, but I haven't read so far anywhere that they can't make drivers pay for it.

Thx for info. I didn't know it was in that point.

There are further cases where you may get a ticket and just pay in a few metres.

The same company has one case in Pina de Ebro
https://www.google.es/maps/place/507...3!4d-0.5269639

But as far as I remember, L'Hospitalet booths were quite near to exit than in Pina de Ebro.

According to actual toll rates, the cost from Acesa/Aumar to Vila-seca/Salou and v.v. will be €0.00.

By the way, exits 28 (Vilafranca North) and 29 (C-15 to Vilanova i la Geltru) are incomplete, they only can be accessed from/to the North. That's why no rate is shown between these exits and points South. Vilafranca South (exit 30) should be "plain" Vilafranca (del Penedes) when coming from/going to the South.

Thank you so much. This clarifies evertyhing. If they don't change the fares, Valencia - Salou traffic will have to stop and take a ticket in the new toll plaza and 1 km later they will have to stop again in the toll booths of the Salou exit and leave the ticket there, without paying any amount.

So, a driver going from Valencia to Salou will move by motorway for free till 1,5 km before Salou and he will have to get a ticket to show later just for free?

A 7.5 km section of A-32 around Torreperogil will open to traffic 'next week': https://www.fomento.es/el-ministerio...-24102019-2001

That's more or less half of the total length of the A-32 section between Úbeda and Torreperogil (16.3 km).

On the other hand, it has been announced today that the SE-40 section between Alcalá de Guadaíra and Dos Hermanas (8 km) will open in December.

It makes you wonder if the roundabout at the west side of Vallirana is sufficient to handle traffic, considering the sizable traffic jams at the current east end of Vallirana.

I don't think there are going to be any big issues since there's already a roundabout at the (western) entrance to Vallirana and it's mostly trouble-free. The problem are the traffic lights in the town, and congestion that blocks side streets and leads to gridlock. Plus, there's little outbound traffic from Vallirana westwards so most vehicles won't have to stop at the new roundabout.

However it's a shame that there are no news about the second phase of the bypass, which would extend B-24 past the (very troublesome) hairpin turns towards l'Ordal pass. Trucks have to slow down to 20 km/h and there's a lot of them.

Why don't they use AP-7 which goes the same direction and is just few km north?

There seem to be multiple quarries in that area, as well as some warehouses west of Vallirana, they are dependent on N-340.

Vallirana is located in such a way that almost all traffic in the urbanized area ends up on N-340 at some point.

There are a lot of suburban areas in the hills there, I wonder how traffic in La Palma de Cervelló and Corbera de Llobregat is, as those areas also have limited infrastructure to get from A to B.

A-32 around Torreperogil seems to have opened to traffic around 1 p.m. today, if I read this correctly: https://cadenaser.com/emisora/2019/1...24_769348.html
