Solid glass makes buildings look shorter. You can't see the floors.
In that regard I like 432 Park better.

Man, that crane looks super scary. So far from the building now.

Ok, that can't be the Delaware: that river would be 45 miles away, forming the borders of Pennsylvania and Jersey. That would be too far. And yet, I don't know of any other river west of the Hudson that big till you get to the Delaware. Or is it the upper Hudson itself??? Could the photographers pls state the location?? Thanks
That photo is taken from a vantage point wnw of the ESB; look at the additional orientation of WTC1. My guess it might be Lake Hopatcong. It could possibly even be from the Delaware Water Gap.

Edit: The Instagram post said Bull Mountain in Upstate NY, but I have doubts due to the orientation of the photo.

It's somewhere in the hills of North Jersey. You can easily make out the towers of Fort Lee sitting atop the Palisades.

By my count they've reached the top habitable floor and they're about to get started on the crown.

Thank you @waccamatt (and @Hudson11). But that water is a river not a lake. Delaware water gap would be way too far (45-50 miles). I am betting for the Hudson itself, somewhere around Bear Mountain (not the Bull Mountain--which I don't know where that is). Bear Mountain is just shy of the Westpoint and 45 minutes from Manhattan, so right on the Hudson. One can easily see the skyline of Manhattan from the drive in at the top of the Bear Mt. So the mystery lingers!

found the spot. It's Mount Beacon, and yes, to my surprise, that is the Hudson. Must've had an impressive lens on that camera and a clear day. That's 50 miles, or 80 km. The Hudson Line should have been a dead giveaway, but I thought it might have been one of the lines west of the Hudson with how close the zoom made it seem.

Here's a more contextual shot.

Thanks HudsonII. Wouldn't that be too far away though? Perhaps not, from the vantage point on the top of a tall hill.

That area of the Hudson Valley is where the tallest peaks are. From certain points on a clear day, the skyline is easily visible to the naked eye, but difficult to capture on a camera.

I agree. I can see the tallest buildings in Manhattan from some of the higher cliff tops in the Catskills--way to the north of Bear Mountains. The state is blessed with every natural feature short of sandy deserts!

This may be the one and only vantage point of Manhattan where the new "toothpicks" actually fit in with the rest of the skyline!

sneaky cameo in that shot by 200 Amsterdam, soon to be tallest in its neck of the woods.
