First time I see commieblock renovations from Ukraine, I like what they did in Kharkiv it seems to be somehow EURO-related.

Yes, you are right. The renovated buildings are just near Metalist stadium that will host some Euro matches.

By the way here is an interesting partial renovation from Kyiv:

What i like about Poland reconstruction of commiblocks is that all apartmans have same windows and no closed balconies. In Belgrade we have a big problem with that. Don't know why but people in Belgrade really like to close their balconies with windows. And windows are paitad diferent usually some remain wooden some people put new PVC or ALU windows. And even when building gets reconstrucsted thoes closed balconies and diferent windows remains. Also sooooo much of aircondition units on the fasads .

In Poland it's not that perfect either you might find some examples like that here and there:

but luckily this heavy old type build-ups you seen in Russia etc. weren't very popular here.

What You think about this? IMHO the left one look better that renovation one. There is major problem in Poland to put candy colours in random pattern on commieblocks, whole neighborhoods are . Don't go that way.

Be quiet, we won't go that way just because we haven't got money for it

But actually it's done mostly to save money on heating costs, new color is just a bonus.

Unfortunately, "saving money" in Ukraine mostly means "corruption", however, spending more money on sth also means the same.

Interesting that they used some pannels, it's probably more expensive this way although I can't say I like it. Colors are fine but the panels itself seem rather plastic and they have this cheap '90 feel to it and they changed the oruginal project too much for my taste.

Some nice examples from Bytom:

Szkoda, że na Stroszku tak partolą modernizacje, bo ogólnie to z blokowych dzielnic najbezpieczniejsza i chyba najbardziej przyjazna do życia (inna sprawa, że to już prawie Tarnowskie Góry), no ale cóż takie spółdzielnie i wspólnoty, za grosz gustu u "władzy".

Unfortunately it's rare to use white in renovations like that perhaps people think it's cold or reminds them of hospital? I heard many weird opinions about colors and architecture from "common" people, enough to know they shouldn't decide stuff like that
