"Commieblocks" are almost as common in Western Europe as in Eastern Europe. While the latter seems to continue building commieblocks, Western Europe stopped building them 30-40 years ago. In the case of Sweden, they went out of style 1974-75.

Today most of them seem to be build in Russia and Belarus, there are whole new districts with prefab buildings. I also know some examples in the Baltics but most former Eastern Block countries stopped building prefab housing in the early '90 due to economic problems.
