Commieblocks of Ukraine

Came across these two brutal giants from Dnipropetrovsk and decided to share them with the community. They're unusually high for soviet time commieblocks.

There's two of them, 28 floors each. In the back you can see the more standard 11 floorers.

This is approximately how I imagine the Victory Mansions (?) from 1984.

Wait! Is Victory Mansions where the inner party or the outer party lives? Because realistically, the commieblocks you posted are pretty descent by former soviet standards.

Outer party. That's the beginning of the book when he walks into the building with dust being swept inside with him. I have three copies of the book, but can't find either one.

The design of these commieblocks resembles design of one in which I lived temporarily while in Minsk.

Wow, really impressive ones, thank you! But weary and decent... and brutal indeed! Like in some twilight zone...

They are over weary and poorly maintained by East Asian standard. These buildings have to be renovated in order to look great for the future decades. (Kiev is still a very small city, there are ample land available for expansion, so please do not tear them down for another 50 years).

Those below 15 floors in Kiev, Moscow or Sankt Petersburg, however, they should be tore down at an faster rate.

Kiev. Solomenskij Region (right bank of the Dnieper).
These commies had been built in the mid 70-th.
Photos from Archunion http://www.archunion.com.ua/

Midrise at the upper left corner of the photo - Court of Appeals 128 m. Building was completely renovated at 2004.

Nice commies, those look so brutal.

They need an urgent renewal, you can notice the ran down green areas and grafitti.

I have a question, is that area dangerous? would you walk in there at night?

Just a part of military plant Arsenal. By the way, Kiev-30 cameras had been manufactured here.

Kiev is safe city.

The region on the photos below is Solomenks - old comfortable and absolutely safe.

I've lived in this region.

It's ridiculous that everyone makes his own garage box. It takes too much space.
